12 volt question

I have a question regarding the 12 volt power source in the bed of the Maverick. I am aware the Ford supplies a pigtail plug for the bed 12 volt harness. The question is, " If I want to install a 12volt LED flood light on the back of my truck do I need to use a relay or is the supplied 12 volt already configured relay wise and therefore none is required?"
Thanks for any assistance.
FYI, I plan on using a single Nilight 4" LED flood/spot combo (30watts, I think)

I don't believe there is a relay, it's a simple 12 volt source. The plugs in the bed are marked 15 Amps but the owners manual shows one 20 amp fuse supplying both plugs in the bed.

Other than a switch to keep your battery from running down or light burning out, you are good to go.

A single one at 30W will draw about 2.5A.

Thanks guys for the the input! So my take away is switch on one side, direct wire to bed 12 volt, no other issues.

One other question I forgot to ask... Is the bed 12 volt ignition switched or not. My presumption from Spook's post is that it is not switched. ?????

Power remains at the connector for a period of time after the ignition is switched off....I can't remember if it's 15 minutes or 30, but it does turn off.

No. You must turn the key back on to have power again.
