From what i’ve seen… its quite a bit more of a wild west feel purchasing mavericks south of the border. With 1USD being worth 1.27 CAD, and with canadian dealers MOSTLY keeping the trucks at MSRP, I’m wondering if any have looked into crossing the border to pick up a Maverick.

While this cross border shopping thing has been going on for years, there are issues that arise when doing this. Ford really doesn't like this and has put into place things such as making the
Canadian warranty not be honored in the USA and visa versa. So basically if you have a warrantable issue arise, you need to take it back up accross the border to get fixed, otherwise its on your dime in the USA.
Also if you buy it in Canada, first you need to import it back into the USA. Fortunately the Mav would likely be compliant to export as Canadian standards exceed USA requirements, the same is often NOT true importing an American vehicle to Canada as usually daytime running lights are a problem. But there's lots of paperwork and fees to be paid.

And then there are a few dealers up here doing the ADM, but yes, its less widespread. and Third, the backlog of orders is just as bad than, if not worse than the US. not to mention, less options, and no Hybrid Lariat model.

I moved to the usa for work a while back and then returned to north the border with my old Acura and it was a pain, not to mention I had a said warranty issue and that was an adventure, lol

So...not recommended.

Not true about the warranty. If you buy in Canada, the Canadian warranty coverage will apply. If you buy in the USA, the USA warranty coverage will apply. Dealers on both sides of the border can do the warranty work.

This might be a stupid question, but are the speedometers different on Canadian vehicles?

its about billing. American dealer performing the work has to bill Ford of Canada, not Ford of USA. Some dealers will do it, others will not. Point is, the automakers don't like it and have clauses stating the exact fact. Bottom line, it makes things very complicated for everyone involved.

yep, KM/h on the analog side, while you can change the digital readings to mph and mpg on the digital parts.

Not really, I am an warranty admin at a Ford dealership. But what do I know? Yes, it is a little more complicated. But claims are submitted just the same.

Yes. But canadian ones have both mph and kmph. So youd be fine bringing a car south on that end

I've lived/worked on both sides of the border crossing on a regular basis, so I have encountered a few issues in my time. Personal real life experience that I have encountered over the years is what I am calling upon, but if what you say is true, then they've cleaned up the confusion and that's a good thing.
Keep in mind, what should happen often doesn't reflect what actually does happen haha.

That is very true. And some dealers may push away a warranty headache on a vehicle that was built for the other side of the border! If it is already a complicated mess, you don't want to add another complication on top of it!
