This is a similar idea to what I’m putting together now (except I want the “back”closer to the side edge of the under seat storage (I want to get another trim piece and edit it). I’m using kicker compc dvc 8” tho and want to angle the speaker up, in the direction of the middle of the storage bin…. Basically if you flipped your box over, that 45 angle 📐 <—- would look like this with the sub mounted in that front
Do you know what the cu. footage is your box?
I'm just under .6 for volume. I needed about .52 for the JL, I also needed to taper the sides as the sub is 9.625 and bottom of the box is 9.75 inside. I couldn't get the volume needed until I added the 35degree angle to the side by the battery. I'll snap some more pics and update my sketchup drawings to an as built when I'm all done. Now I've got to take it back apart and glue it up and silicone all the seams.

Does anyone know the max mounting depth of the 6.5" speaker for the front doors?
I’d stay under 2” if possible, but I think someone made 2 5/16 work (with an adaptor extending the speaker out towards the door grill - otherwise it hits the window track)

Yeah my kickers need .5 (but if i end up slightly smaller, like .42 I’m not worried cuz my mono block kicks out slightly more RMS than the comps are rated, so that tiny bit of extra power should compensate for the smaller enclosure (I hope at least). I may stop at one, but the plan is one on each side while allowing for as much space leftover in the middle part of the cubby (Ben with the bump in the middle)

by the battery? Is yours a hybrid?
Yes, hybrid so I have a lot less space. However the 12v battery is under the backseat passenger side so running power for the amp is super easy.

Finally got the box shape built up, never built a tighter fitting box, it doesn't move at all.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to put a nice oversized top on it to close it all off a little better. I'll need to trim the plastic just a little bit and then decide if I cut the front lip off the plastic liner and put it back on.

More wiring parts arrive from Amazon tomorrow and hopefully this weekend I'll be able to mount the amp and clean everything up real good.

Last question, sorry 😇
Did you shave off the FITS adaptors?

Temporary install, got a few more things to do. Need to sand and add a finish to the walnut and make some cuts on the plastics. Need to mount the amp board and clean up all wiring (its all long until I decided exactly how/where I'm mounting it)

I just installed a big RF 12inch Punch sub with a RF 500.1 Punch Amp in my Civic last year. It is nice for sure and I am gonna want to add a sub to my Maverick but I want to see what people are doing first as well.
Just sold my EK Civic last year in anticipation of getting the Maverick, and I had a RF 12" ported box, with a RF amp as well. Man, I loved the way the bass hit for hip hop and rock music.

I'm not gonna lie. When I listened to the B&O system in a Lariat Lux Hybrid today, I wasn't impressed. For such an upgrade, it's kind of caca. I will be adding a sub (or 2 if I can) and upgrading the door and dash speakers as my order has the B&O. Will likely sell the B&O stuff I take out to another Maverick owner that wants the upgrades. Don't get me wrong, it's nice, but I've had some super nice and fancy systems in all my rides. I need the clarity and bass so that I can be deaf in a few years when I'm only 35ish 🤣🤣 jk

Got the amp all hooked up and wires trimmed up. Took out the jack and used it's mounting points for the amp board (I have a bottle jack in the back). Starting to sound pretty damn good. Need to get the top of box finished out so I can caulk it in. I'm also going to set T-nuts in the box for the sub to attach to as the wood screws are not getting tight enough and air is escaping between the sub and the box.

I know I'm late to the party probably, but a tiny bit of construction adhesive on the barrels of the T nuts goes a long way to saving headaches if you ever need to disassemble. I've had a couple spin free in the past and having to remove the bolts then gets much less fun.
