Does anybody know if the steering wheel material is the same on these vehicles? Or does XLT have a nicer feel?

I test drove an XL and it's a pretty aweful hard plastic. My base crosstrek has a nice grippy feel for plastic. I'll probably just add an after market leather cover but just wondering/hoping XLT is better.

I think the only difference is the addition of cruse controls on XLT wheel but both wheels are not leather covered so yes I think the same.

Thanks for the replies. It's just super chintzy. They need to look at Subarus non-leather steering wheel. It has a nice feel, has a bit of grip and texture. The Maverick on is so smooth and hard it almost slippery not to mention feels like junk.

The plastic wheel on my base trim Tacoma is even better than the one in my old Impreza.

On second thought, newer Subarus might actually be using Toyota steering wheels. Agree that the Subaru one does feel pretty good.

Yeah, I bet you are right on that. I actually drove a base Forester from a few years ago and that one was cheap and hard.

I plan on getting one of these.

The color matches perfect. He ordered from Amazon. I will order one but I will wait for a build date first before ordering any accessories.

I used a different leather steering wheel cover on my XLT. Folded the leather under itself by the spoke as I didn't want to remove steering wheel cover.

I’m getting an xlt without Lux but planning on buying the Lariat leather non lux wheel (which isn’t heated but is leather) and installing it. It’s about $450. I can do the swap myself but may ask the dealer to do it to avoid voiding my warranty. I’m figuring it might be worth $100 or so labor to save any warranty risks.
