Yeah I tried looking for the last bitch thread but couldn’t find it. I thought it was important that we have some of these threads though as these are things potential buyers should be aware of. If I had read this thread before it wouldn’t have changed my mind most likely about buying but I would have had different expectations perhaps. At least it’s not a thread asking how long for deliveryReally? with several bitchfest threads already here- you HAD to start a brand new 1 because you are craving attention or something? Total waste of bandwidth and bad form.
Stifle yourself Edith!

I’ve owned a lot of cars, a lot. I’ve owned trucks like Ford Rangers, Nissan Frontiers, Silverados, Mazda. I’ve owned Ford Explorers, Honda Civics, Escorts, Cavaliers, Santa Fe, Volvo, Mercedes, Porsche. This perfectly describes my thoughts haha what? Ford didn’t build the maverick to the spec of a Lexus???the trucks base price is 8000 dollars cheaper here in canada than a honda civic. A honda. Civic. Lol and 12k cheaper than the base hyundai santa cruz. So if you were expecting it to have all the refinement of cars in a different price class… you can pay someone half of the difference in prices to fix all your gripes about the car. Be thankful the cloth isn’t adhered to the cushions so you can get a custom leather kit installed. To me, id rather a company charge me less, and let me decide what features i want to add and when i want to add them once i have the truck, than charge me a premium including a bunch of features i dont care for at all.… why did you buy a maverick!!! Lol dont take this as a hateful comment. I know through text it can appear aggressive. Im just failing to understand your perspective. But i do appreciate your honest review
Thanks Springboks for saying what I was thinking, in the REAL World I wanted a 50K F-150, I am a secretary and I know my chili red cute truck won't be the same and don't expect it to be either. So lets summarize your list of complaints
If it’s getting chips after a month I can’t imagine how crappy it’s going to look in 10 years.
We have no context here. Where have you been driving? What are the source of the chips?
Interior plastic scratches easier than any car I’ve ever owned.
Its a sub $20K truck. What were you expecting? You can wrap it for a couple of $100 if you really wanted to.
Cloth seat covers not mounted to cushions as others have noted and look “loose” in places.
This sounds like a QC issue that your dealer should take care of. Did you contact them about it yet?
Speakers are junk, we’ve seen the pictures so not surprising.

So you are really unhappy? You have the option to sell it and get back what you paid. Good luck in finding ANY car that gives you the value that the Maverick has. But if those are your complaints, you should really purchase in a different price bracket.
Yeah, good suggestion. I just don't like the look personally. I'd rather use touch up paint.Do you recommend a hood protector?![]()
So you plan on buying a Maverick and hope to get others to cancel their orders to get one for yourself? Clever!Found chips in paint on front fender today, as bad as any chip I had on my 14 year old Honda Element with 225K I just sold. My wife’s 10 year old car doesn’t have any chips like this.
The list of little annoyances is starting to build.

Im really concerned about the longevity of these vehicles.
I really like the truck but either this is first year incompetence or they cheaped out on everything.
For a $19K truck maybe this type of thing is acceptable these days but when you add features and pay $30k or more this is ridiculous.
I honestly wouldn’t recommend it to anyone right now based on the level of quality on some of these things. Hope the mechanical parts are built better than the rest of it.
All of your complaints are valid. They are real issues with the truck. I used to drive a Hyundai Accent and the quality of the paint and interior of the Maverick seems to be equal to that (that was a 15k car back in 2017).So interesting feedback and I’ll clarify a couple of things.
#1 - I like the truck, I’m not trying to be a naysayer.
My truck was $30K not $20K. People are paying $35-40K in some cases. Even a $20K truck shouldn’t have paint issues.
Cheap plastic I can live with, but the paint is a major issue and has been well documented as an issue already for many owners.
#3 My Honda Element was 20K and was a cheap car at the time, really the equivalent of a $30K maverick.
#4 My driving has been 50/50 and no gravel roads etc. I have the aeroskin hood guard on the leading edge thank god but nothing on the fenders.
Cheap speakers I can live with and plastic scratching isn’t a huge deal and even the seats is liveable but when you start putting it all together it seems sloppy. And I hate sloppy work.
Im not planning to sell the truck, I’m just raising the red flag that in another year or two I’m not sure how well these will hold up cosmetically. Not trying to rain on the parade as they are very cool trucks and I’m excited as everyone else about them, but it’s important that we note the good with the bad.
