I'm guessing Ford gives more generous crumple zone for pedestrians to compensate for their AMBS automatic-maybe-braking-system:

Old Toyota FJ Cruisers are going for up to $60K now...
Madness, I know my retirement will take a huge hit but I have plenty of years to recoup any losses. At this point I really want to just see it all crash down to end the madness. We need some normalcy all up in here.

All self-flagellating joking aside, that color matched spray-in is on point. (y)

That was a very interesting and sorta disturbing video! I'm pleasantly surprised how well some of those braking systems work. I guess the Kia didn't have an alert system or it just wasn't as good as the other cars tested.

Ford should build your Maverick based on date of order, no matter which dealer you use. Their attempt to be fair to dealers with allocations, is very unfair to buyers when others are able to cut the line in front of them.
I totally agree!! There was no mention of an allocation system when orders were placed. It was assumed that when you placed an order you put in line by date and would receive your Maverick based on that, not by how many allocation your dealership would receive each month!!

Mr. Regular’s reviews are always great, disturbing, and honest. Watch his other ones if you haven't already.

the best way I’ve heard it out is the Maverick is “truck-down”, and the Santa Cruz/Baja is “car-up”

I've seen FJ Cruisers from 2014 going for $46k. Older classic Land Cruiser FJ40's from the 70's can reach $120k. It would have to be a real low mileage 1998 4Runner 4x4 to get $16k.

Although I don't know where they got the notion that the hybrid has a manual shift mode with fake gears. Sometimes being ankle-deep auto enthusiasts really comes through when they r/ConfidentlyIncorrect spout some off the wall "knowledge". IIRC there was a Ford truck review that had some real WTF discourse on 4WD axle locks.

Always love Mr RCR. Makes a great real world review and somehow keeps me interested for 20+ minutes.
Agree with his points tho.
1 Bigger touch screen to come to both drive up demand as well as deal with chip shortage
2 Dial shifters are dumb, give me a column shift.
3 thank god theres no “sport select gear” mode.
4 AWD hybrid i think will come later again for demand and chip shortage.
5 cell phone holder is Brilliant .
6 i think the hood is so tall to give it that truck look vs the Santa Cuz weird mini van look.

i wonder if Toyota or GM are gonna try to jump on this market soon. Hell maybe even Chrysler once they get their shit figured out.
