Selling my maverick :-(

Hey guys, so here's the deal. My job couldn't have had a better timing to start cutting hours a month after i purchased the car. With that being said I won't be able to make monthly payments on the car since I'm making a little less money.

I'm sure you guys know all the specs at this point. Some of you might not agree on the pricing but I'm just trying to break even at this point. Very sad to create this post

Sorry about your situation. But your best route for maximizing your truck's worth is going to Carvana, Vroom, or even Carmax.

If I was selling a Mav, fat chance as I don’t even have one(sad laughter hahahahaha), I’d post it everywhere. Get a bidding war going.

Everyone here knows what the MSRP is. You are better off dumping to carmax and being done with it. Selling it to a private party, they still have to pay sales tax. If they have to get a loan, most banks are at 130% ltv max. I will start the bidding at 30k.

Yeah that is a stiff price for those of us that are so familiar with the pricing of each trim and add-ons. I do hope you are able to sell it. Here is also praying your job will get you back to full time hours soon.

Carvana will most likely be the highest offer. Usually 2-3k over vroom or carmax.

On the other hand.... there are folks on here that missed the chance to get a Mav, are waiting a very long time for one or don't want to wait for this summer to try to order and wait. If it was me... dang skippy I would post on here. I hate to hear the OP hit tough times. I have been in that place my fair share as well. I wish him the best. Good for him if he can work a direct transaction rather going through a dealer.

I do like that idea, didn't even think about it. The reason i paid over sticker price is because i did order one but in late August, so my chances on getting one were pretty slim

That's like 10K over MSRP. Which you may still be able to recoup in this market. It will be hard for the informed buyers on this forum.

You have an asset that has gone up in value, especially the hybrid that is extremely rare. You would not sell stock in a company at less than market value so do not let people make you feel guilty about selling your Mav for a nice profit.

Some people are telling you to sell to a wholesaler like Carvana. They just mark up what they pay you to the retail price. That means you are giving them a few thousand in your equity for free. Just like you would not give away equity in stock you own for free, don't do this with other assets you own like a vehicle.

With all the latest chip and supply chain delays and people getting their builds pushed out from Feb to May by Ford, that tells me the value of you truck just went up again. Look at what the resellers are charging for a similar Mav on line and price yours just below that. I bet you will sell it quickly to a private party.
