So sorry to hear of this, but thank you for the post. If this happens to anyone else, I would definitely ask to see the photographic proof of the dealer's claim. I mean, who's to stop them from selling your truck to someone else who offered them more $$? Hopefully, that didn't happen, but we need to protect ourselves.

@Rob Cactus Gray was kind enough to run a Carfax inquiry on the VIN end it showed it was sold on 2/1, the day I was supposed to pick it up and the day the salesman called.

@Rob Cactus Gray was kind enough to run a Carfax inquiry on the VIN end it showed it was sold on 2/1, the day I was supposed to pick it up and the day the salesman called.

I did send a text to the salesman this AM with a pic of the forum threads with number of views, a copy of the email I got from the dealership asking how I like my new vehicle and a copy of the Carfax report. I asked him if he thought I would just go away and ignore his lies? I told him he was wrong! I also wrote a lengthy review on Google that shows my name. I hope this doesn’t come back to bite me in the butt

There isn't much they can do. You have the evidence in the Carfax report that it was sold. Plus I am sure you have an email with the Vin that Ford sent you. So, they are totally wrong and I would make their sorry asses sweat as much as possible. I would also report this to FORD because they ordered that truck for you with your info and then sold it out from under you. They violated Ford's dealer guidelines on selling these Mavericks. Perhaps it will cost them some allocations and a big warning from FORD.

No, I keep trying to clarify this point. I did NOT order this truck! I called a dozen or so dealers to find one that someone ordered and then didn’t want. I reserved this truck when the other customer backed out. They wouldn’t run my card for a deposit even though the had the info! This gave them the ability to sell for a higher price, but the lies I was told just wasn’t right and the salesman knew I was driving 8 hrs to get the truck

Ahh... got you! Yes you are correct that did give them the ability to do that. It was still a crappy thing to do and they still deserve all the bad publicity they get. Thanks for clarifying. The good news is you have a rig now.

By spreading the word here and elsewhere about this dealer’s bad practices you can not only help others avoid being scammed, but also help dent their sales volume until Gary Yeoman Ford gets the message that scamming customers is bad for business.

This dealership needs to understand the power of the Maverick Truck Club. Don't f*** with us!
