Good news, bad news. The salesman told me it was damaged and then sold it to someone else!

I'm no conspiracy theorist... but this is fishy.

The no pictures thing is likely BS if the truck was delivered to the dealer. They would definitely need pictures to document damage... if only to decide what to do next. The guy at the dealership who receives and checks in vehicles (or a manager) would probably take a pic. Someone at Ford would need to approve the return too, and they would need a pic.

Of course, it could be that the truck driver refused/red flagged the truck before loading it. In that case, the dealer would not have access to pics. The salesman made it sound like the truck arrived at the dealer but they may have been misinformed.
Aaarrrggghhh!!! I am surprised at this point that no one has asked what the truck drivers daughter or gf is driving? 🤗

Thanks, I still have tears in my eyes😥 The salesman told me this is the second hybrid in two weeks that came in so damaged that they had to be returned!
What is the VIN of the truck you've ordered that came in damaged?

Slow your roll! :)

The car business is pretty effed up, no doubt.

But most industries in our beloved capitalist system are based on customer deception and shell games. Think about it.

A few examples...

Health care
Insurance
Airlines
Mortgage industry
Grocery stores
Contractors
Builders
Investments
Credit cards
Higher education
Facebook

And, if it's any consolation, most car salespeople are getting screwed by the dealers they work for.
You left one out. Banking. Wells Fargo anyone?

As far as car salesmen getting screwed by the dealers, that's almost self inflicted. They knew going into it that car dealers are mostly slimy. You lie down with dogs, you wake up with fleas.

You mentioned consolation. As much as I dislike what car salesmen do to unsuspecting customers on a daily basis, somehow, I sort of feel sorry for them. I can't imagine going to work every day with the express purpose of taking advantage of people's lack of knowledge to make someone else rich. How do they sleep at night?

Odds are = maybe while leaning in the indicated direction.
I never unloaded vehicles from rail but all cars are unloaded in a manner determined by their design. When upon opening a rail car which had apparent damaged products unloading was ceased at that point and railroad was notified for their inspection. Was damaged by humping or something becoming detached (not likely unless rail car was involved in train wreck or whatever) or to determine if load was improperly secured and damage could be because of improper loading procedures. Yes rail car could sit for days after the door was opened or partially unloaded. .....
Did you watch the video? That's the same kind of rail car that Hermosillo uses.

If you are saying you think that finding a damaged car at the door end of the rail car would cause them to leave the car there, blocking in all the cars behind it -- either for days as you say here or never unloading it as you said earlier -- well... I'll believe it when I see it.

On the plus side, if it was damaged by "humping" maybe in a few months there will be some extra little baby Maverick available on the market... ;)

I have not watched that video yet, but will. I have watched several and one in particular, I believe rail cars with GM vehicles looked like MAYBE all the cars on tone deck were MAYBE in the 30-40 foot end of rail cars bulging end. In this day and time I would expect pictures to be immediately submitted to rail road for determination of which procedure is to be followed. Depending on damage it could be that Ford would want to clear all vehicles in that rail car before further transporting, I do not know. As for "humping" the current yarding procedures have all but eliminated such damage and the chance of mutilated offspring is highly unlikely but MAYBE we should look closely at the suspension?🤪

NOT TRUE AT ALL ,I ACTUALLY met OP in person at my dealer her story is 100% legitimate . .OP had worked with a salesperson before and she called there last night just to check as I suggested that to OP yesterday, as it looked like they had one in stock. One of the sales people there just had a customer cancel on an order that was in house. They at Bozard Ford heard her story and the salesman gave her the truck! SHE SIMPLY LUCKED OUT

I'm sorry about what happened. And it turns out it's not just you.

Yesterday, I visited with the owner of "my" dealership. She said that due to transport shortages they are using companies that they wouldn't normally use and are having much more damage than they usually do.

Most of the articles I see on truck driver shortages say that there are plenty of people who have the training to take these jobs. But many find out when they get into it that the pay and working conditions aren't what they expected. So they go and find better jobs elsewhere.

I can't really fault someone who leaves for a better job. Who wouldn't do that?

But it's putting a big crimp in the supply pipeline for us consumers.
Probably they are not telling the truth, drugs, traffic citations, DOT physical, any blemish on record can diminish chances for a CDL lic .
And let us not forget nearly 1 million souls have died in the past two years from Covid , not easy to replace that many workers.

They were talking about the number of people who had CDLs, not people who wanted to get a CDL.

Yet, in California alone, there are 640,445 people who hold active Class A and Class B commercial driver’s licenses, according to the Department of Motor Vehicles. Meanwhile there are only 140,000 “truck transportation” jobs in the state, according to the state Employment Development Department. The Great American Trucker Shortage Isn't Real | Time
I understand you think that's probably not true.
