Personally I think your salesperson is wrong. The SIBL is a major constraint and has been for long time. If anything will push your order into MY23 it's going to be that SIBL. I'd remove it and have it done locally, but that just me. However, with the books now closed on orders for MY22, Ford has a much better idea of how many orders need the SIBL and can decide how to address the problem. Personally I think they should reach out to everyone with SIBL and ask them to either drop it and receive a slight price reduction or change it to DIBL. I also think we're going to see more orders with later order dates getting build dates because they either don't have SIBL or they have DIBL. There's still going to be orders getting build dates that have SIBL, but I'm guessing it's going to be a smaller number because of the restraint. Oh and let's not forget about the chip shortages, which adds more restraints!
I would drop my SIBL, but I got that because I got the Lux Package. Not a separate item. If I could get a reduced price for lux package without SIBL I would.

Yeah well they can’t have a contract for every mini spare since they don’t know how many they need so it’s all speculation on both sides. I just find it humorous that a tire would be on constraint when it’s simply an exchange. Hell, if it’s that important ford could just build it without the fill and credit the sticker.
Besides, one would think a full-sized spare is exactly that - one extra wheel/tire from a Maverick. I was told elsewhere on this board that the full-size spare is a steel wheel as comes standard on the XL model. So, hard to believe Ford doesn't have any of those and can't slap a tire of some kind on the rim.

As with much of what I see on this forum, it's bizarre.

The Maverick full size spare is not the same tire. It's not the same XL steel wheel. It is a slightly different size, if memory serves. So it's not a 5th tire/wheel matching the others on the vehicle. It's just larger and more appropriate than a donut spare. I'm not defending Ford's practice. Don't shoot me. Also, they wouldn't need a few. They'd need thousands of extra.

There's definitely a bunch of extra bells and whistles on the Lariat lux package that aren't in the XLT lux pack, such as adaptive cruise control with land centering, parking and steering assist, wireless charging pad, upgraded stereo system, four-way headrests, etc.

So, who knows what the real story is, but it seems reasonable to assume that if XLT Luxury Packs are constrained, Lariat Luxury Packs are MORE constrained.

Yep. Good and reasonable assumption.

Early November order. No CO 360. Eco XLT, FX4, 4K, Lux with SIBL, which I would swap for Lux with DIBL in a second but they won’t allow. Makes no sense if SIBL is so constrained why wouldn’t they want people to drop it for the DIBL?

Ehhh. It's really a pros and cons for you. If soon is much more important than the Lux package items, then yes. If you have time, maybe wait a little longer. Ford has started to blow through Eco orders because they had to push out Hybrids for awhile. At least you don't have CP360. So that helps some. It's really about you.

Anyone know a good car to buy? :ROFLMAO:

Not sure if I'll keep my order or not. I will absolutely not be waiting another full year to get a year old model. Unless they are going to give me a free Lariat Lux upgrade or something -- which they won't.

Have to think a while about that. I'd really like a truck but I don't want to pay >$30k and I'm not spending $30k on a 10 year old Tacoma either.

Same here. Ford changed the package recently, so all the late XLT lux orders have DIBL automatically.
I think that happened with all XLT Lux orders since November.
