I don't know if the cost has anything to do with it. I have a Lariat Lux hybrid with moonroof and hard trifold tonneau -- MSRP 32.8k -- and I was the same build week as DryHeat. So I feel that it's just more of the random chaotic inconsistent process that Ford seems to implement.
Well it's just doesn't sit well that a Lariat was built and delivered before his while being told there's chip shortages. Of course there's more to story, but on the surface based on what his dealer told him there's something wrong with what has happened. Now, Jim Farley did say the supplies that were available were going to the vehicles that make them more money, so that was why I said that could be by why the Lariat was made and delivered before DryHeat's XLT. Just my 2 cents.

Not a chance. August to today is 6 months, and even if each month was at 5000 units (it's not) and Ford didn't deliver a single Maverick (they have) the total produced would be 6 x 5000= 30,000 Mavericks.

They were probably talking 40000 units of just ford. Not one specific model
@SpacemanSpiff's estimate of 30,000 total is pretty good, but the exact numbers are available.

They produced 25,880 Mavericks in 2021 and 7,842 Mavericks in January 2022.

Total so far: 33,722

I have no idea if my truck is delayed because TRACKER has worked exactly once for me in the past 9 days. I'm using the link at "Trackers" above, where we add our order # and VIN #. Is there a better link?

XLT Hybrid; lux
Order confirmed June 14th
In production 12/15/22.
Estimated delivery 2/13/22 (yeah, sure)
My patience is very thin.

I agree that Ford is communicating very poorly.
Ford needs a Communications manager!
I vote for Tim Bartz.
He's the only one we see trying now, and he's earned out trust.

Use this link, the tracker on this site hasn't worked for me in a couple of months now

I’m a hybrid Lariat on schedule for 2/5 delivery. No luxury package. My salesman told me 2/5 just a couple days ago. Knock on wood. Sold my Prius yesterday assuming delivery this weekend. FWIW My dealer offered me $8900 for the Prius.
I sold it for $15K.
Good for you! My 7500 mile 2018 Ecosport SE (Mint) fetched $15000.00 at trade for my Maverick XL order in early October. I paid $17K for it. Just some perspective. Still nursing my odometer while I wait impatiently like you all for my truck. Build date moved from 2/21 to 2/14 so fingers crossed in Panama City Beach Florida. GOD bless America, PLEASE! We'll get through this. Stay faithful. Stay alert. Stay strong!

As I type, I am on with Ford Customer Service and the person I am speaking with is looking into this for me. We have not received any new emails from Ford and I haven't been able to get TRACKER to work. So I decided to call. Just learned that our delivery date of 2/13 has shifted to 5/8. She is trying to discern why.

I imagine it's one or more of several possibilities:

* Chip shortage

* Shipping Contractor issues

* Computer glitch

* Engine issue with FordPass translates to a pre-delivery recall/production snafu

Hang on and I'll update once she comes back to the phone with (hopefully) some sort of news.

UPDATE: All the Customer Service people are being told is that "there is a Delay." However, she "escalated" my call and will have a supervisor call me back in 3 to 5 days. So, we'll see where that leads. No doubt Tim Bartz will have some information first. I'm so grateful for Tim, who is our trusty Life Line!

VERY bummed to hear May 8th! She did say that "it's a range" and it could mean that instead of February 13th (it was 7th to 13th) the range is now 2/13 to 5/8. So I guess that tells us that something big is going on and Ford hasn't really got a clue as to when they can ship. We still need to know WHY, lest our imaginations and speculations run amok.

LATER UPDATE: Ford Customer Service Rep today told me delivery is now expected 5/8.
Then, I was finally able to see the Tracker again and guess what...it says 5/14.

Has anyone else noticed that ALL of these delays are just an automatic 90 days later than the former estimated day of delivery? It's not exact at all. It's a blanket delay.

I've seen a few posts from folks whose February delivery date has just today been delayed until May -- a three-month delay.

This is for trucks that have already been built, according to the tracker or the dealer's Vehicle History report.

Has anyone heard anything that would explain this?

(Mine went from 2/3/22 to 5/4/22. I'm in Tucson, Arizona -- 70 miles from Nogales where the train crossed the border -- so my truck would get off the train pretty much at the first stop in the USA. It doesn't seem like there should be much of a transportation delay.)

[EDIT] My truck is a hybrid, as it says in my signature. I don't know about the others.
I was informed by Ford that our originally scheduled 18 Feb 22 date has been pushed back 19 May 22. How does Ford expect to keep loyal customers by doing this? Let us ppay the ddealership. obtain the proper paperwork, and take a train to the factory to pick it up ouselves!1 Seems

Yep. Got the unwanted news this morning. Ours was slated for Feb 18 and now 19 May. My wife and I discussed buying a Ford as we had two horrible dealing with them 30 or so years back. Well crap! Here we go again... No reason why the three month delay but I bet it has to do with shipping them. Why not let customers pay the dealership, obtain proper papers and even forward copies with our pictures to the Factory, and we can take a train ride there to pick it up in person. Even if Ford needs to hire someone to sit on site to go through our papers and verify our identities before accepting it, Ford would come out ahead not having to pay delivery rates. Come on Ford, work WITH customers on these issues. In the meantime I'm stuck with how to get our 2002 PT Cruiser with weak brakes and worn clutch to last until then. Spend money we really can't afford on it only to scrap it when the Maverick arrives? The only GOOD thing about the PT right now is no one wants to drive close to it! 🤣

Aside from several other reasons that would not be possible, the most important reason would be they wouldn't be able to collect that outrageous $1,500 destination fee! lol

Unfortunately we're still in a new car crunch. The pandemic saw a huge decrease in fleet and rental cars that were initially sold to benefit the rental fleets and then as the pandemic went on there wasn't the usual supply of used coming to market later in the pandemic. People with economic issues were holding their cars longer than usual so even less used cars. Which greatly increased price for the stock available and rolled over into new car market. Which thanks to the pandemic had decreased output thanks to worker issues, pandemic health issues, and now everyone wants a car and the used car market is ridiculous. But this glut of new cars being produced cannot keep up.

Here's an a example of how crazy it is. Used hybrid lariat with the lux package selling for 37000 not far from me. Has 970mi.

That just seems preposterous to me. But that's the market at the moment. Everyone wants a car and nobody is selling or making them fast enough to override a year of nothing. Plus the rental fleets are desperate to replenish their inventory.

God help you all that are waiting and seeing build dates pushed back. Mine only was bumped back less than s month before it was built. And less than another month to be delivered. Still over four months from order to taking possession of it.

In November when I still wasn‘t scheduled on my June 11th order AND my once trusty old Subaru was no longer a good return in terms of repairs, I decided to look at alternatives. I managed to find a in-transit Bronco Sport Badlands that the dealer was willing to selling to me without a markup. My Maverick was scheduled in the ”lottery” for a week of Jan 24th build. I decided to go ahead on the Bronco Sport and picked it up 12/8. In retrospect, that decision is looking better and better as the Ford Maverick delivery news keeps looking worse and worse, particularly for high end Hybrid orders.

i am still hopeful I will eventually get it, but less sure at this point whether I will keep it. I do feel bad for my fellow travelers who really need the truck now, and getting more peeved about how Ford has handled this AND other recent introductions.

I received this text from my salesman today. Something we've all know about before (spray-on cab delay) I told him YES, for sure change that. I will see what that will do to improve the schedule date. I just ordered a '22 Escape Hybrid last week. I'll bet a ton a money I will see that before I get my Hybrid Maverick +lux pckg (ordered 1st week of Sept).

This is what I got from my dealer today after asking for the VVR.

Below is the tracking screen from our end. This is exactly what mine said when they took it aside somewhere waiting for micro chips after it was otherwise built.

Well all this news is good and bad for those of us not scheduled.

Good no longer need to check if scheduled every week!

Bad won't get delivered before fall!
