I wonder if any of the First Editions will get pushed because of this... would be a little weird to have a 'First Edition' be a 2nd Model Year.

If I was Ford, I'd quietly make First Editions a priority and get them done now that the order books are closed. There really aren't very many of them all things considered.

Makes sense it showed up. Less demand, more profit for Ford. Fits in what Farley said about prioritizing vehicles that will net them cash.

It IS in stock - working on final numbers and a pick up date!

EDIT: Deposit is in. Flying out on Monday to grab it. Escape PHEV SEL. That should hold me until the MavBrid arrives.

Maverick Jesus again with the dunk- So if he is saying a trim change to an order resets your place in line- I probably lost two months by having my dealer take a couple weeks to officially update mine to a Lariat- Ugh- Are hybrids with Lariat/Lux more delayed than Eco/Lariat/Lux ?

Yes. More chips and EcoBoost has less parts constraints. But get what you want. I really wish I could have a Hybrid. But can't live without AWD.

Yes. They THINK so, because hybrids require more chips. But apparently the lux packages are a problem across the board, though it's unclear if that's all lux packs or Lariat lux packs, which also include the Co Pilot 360.

It's all Lux packages, but Lariat moreso. Even more chips.

The problem with the SIBL is the chemicals needed to make the liner and they are in short supply everywhere not just with Ford. So if your Maverick order has it then Ford won't schedule the build unless they have supplies on hand (or scheduled to arrive during the building process) Even though SIBL is done at a different location, not have the material will delay your build from getting started. Which as Naranjita has stated has been a constraint almost since the first Mavericks were made!
To me, it would be a simple fix if Ford would contact every person with SIBL order and ask them if they would either replace it with a DIBL or remove for a slight price reduction or keep and wait for you order to get built. This would especially be good to do on all XLT orders since going forward SIBL is no longer offered anyway. I'm wouldn't be surprised to see in MY23 that SIBL is also removed from the Lariat LUX package and made a stand alone option all together.

I ordered an XLT Lux, and if Ford contacted me and offered a credit to drop the SIBL and actually get my truck built, I'd do it.

I share your same thoughts. We ordered our trucks the way we want them, so let Ford build our trucks even if it is a 23 model. This is Fords problem not ours and we should not have to modify our orders just to meet Fords needs.

Note to Ford: I’m the customer and you are supposed to make me happy. Not switching any options this late in the game.

I inquired about dropping the SIBL for my hybrid XL ordered on 10/15. My salesperson advised against it saying I could be moved to the back of the line or to a 2023. Hmm.

According to Tim Bartz, changes within your trim level will not move your placement (unless you add a constrained item). Your order date stays the same. He says changing trim levels causes your order date to change. However, if you're scheduled or Priority Code 2, you cannot make changes.

Yes. Given past events, this is a real and present danger to last minute orders.

So if you were to cancel your customer order does the dealer get it keep it in the queue for retail stock?

Personally I think your salesperson is wrong. The SIBL is a major constraint and has been for long time. If anything will push your order into MY23 it's going to be that SIBL. I'd remove it and have it done locally, but that just me. However, with the books now closed on orders for MY22, Ford has a much better idea of how many orders need the SIBL and can decide how to address the problem. Personally I think they should reach out to everyone with SIBL and ask them to either drop it and receive a slight price reduction or change it to DIBL. I also think we're going to see more orders with later order dates getting build dates because they either don't have SIBL or they have DIBL. There's still going to be orders getting build dates that have SIBL, but I'm guessing it's going to be a smaller number because of the restraint. Oh and let's not forget about the chip shortages, which adds more restraints!

Of all constrained items, Sprayed In Bedliners is the easiest thing for us to solve ourselves. Ford currently won't let us decouple them from a Lux order, but if I had a stand alone SIBL order, I'd drop that so fast. Heck, I woulda done that months ago, though. I wouldn't hold out forever just for a Ford embossed bulkhead. Mine is covered by a tonneau anyway.

Curious since MY 23 order banks do not open until August 2022. If one is pushed to a MY 2023 does this mean a post September build for a 2022 order?

Or at some point does the assembly plant just change VIN's to reflect a 2023 MY Maverick? That was ordered as a 2022.

That was XLT Lux only. Not Lariat Lux.
