I want the tailgate. Modify it and get rid of Maverick stamp. Every truck has it.

Sad to see one of our little buddies with their guts hanging out sure is a shame….
But dang look at all those parts that the yard will have to part out soon.

I've seen two on here, including this one ;)
Hmm- this one, Starcommetrys, head on with semi, my cousin Vinny and the one that caught fire. There was one other- weeks old, snow storm. I think that is all I have seen. Glad the dude is ok.

I ordered oct 25, just spoke with dealer yesterday...bottom line in my case. .still waiting! I anticipate that I'll be lucky if I'm in my Mav early summer.

When did you order yours?
I ordered 6/12, confirmed 6/14. Still waiting for mine.

So lets say that some jerkwad totals your Maverick, and you're not in a no-fault state, and its totally 100% their fault.

Car insurance on used cars are supposed to give you "replacement cost", but to actually replace it means they would have to look at what they are selling for at dealerships right this second, which is way over MSRP. However, legally they can get away with offering as low as 80% value of blackbook is what I was told, at least in Texas. But who knows how low that is. Usually they try to avoid that as such disputes create lawyer billing time and that's not profitable, but these are weird times.

I have a strong feeling that whatever the insurance's first offer is, dispute it as it'll be too low. I've only had a vehicle totaled once, and their insurance also low balled me so I sent 5 examples in my area that were equal condition and what I expected as a minimum, and they luckily agreed to that sum which was several thousand more than their initial offer, but that was even back in normal times.
They will likely opt to repair the vehicle if replacement payout exceeds repair cost

Honestly it looks like it could be repaired

Obviously an expensive repair, but it sort of looks like the frame rail is intact

I doubt insurance would bother as I’ve seen lesser damage total a vehicle but there are plenty of shops that will rebuild something wrecked worse than this

I kinda agree it probably could be repaired but who knows what the cost would be. AND trying to get the parts when Ford says it is having part’s issues. Doubt if Ford would give up an engine unless one of you guys waiting for your Maverick will donate your engine.

IF you look at the Copart site -
https://www.copart.com/lotSearchResults?free=true&query=Ford Maverick

it doesn't take as much these days to total a Maverick. If the air bags are blown that is usually it.

Just a quality defect. Warranty should cover it.
