Hello Fellow Maverick Owners—-

I am noticing now at just a tad over 1,300 miles on the 2.0EB/AWD XLT LUX/4K/360 Maverick, this vibration/growl when accelerating and decelerating anywhere actually under 40mph. It’s really bad at 15-30mph…. It doesn’t matter drive mode, weather, or drive time on the Maverick. It’s not how it was behaving?? It’s not how I believe a new truck/vehicle should handle… I have had this problem in an old car with 110k miles on it with a shitty tranny… but it’s turning the great experience into an annoying and concerning one… maybe this is the nature of the beast? Was I just too excited and not driving around town enough to notice it? Any input or thoughts?? I know I can, and will, hit up the dealer with a warranty over view of the drivetrain… but before going in… I guess I want to know if this is safe and normal and part of this setup and I just need to deal with it?? Or is it a concern?Bad flange angle on drive shaft prop, not enough or too much fluid? Bad mounts? Who knows! Ok mav club do your magic!

I recall a video of an owner with a growl/vibration at a certain RPM range. Sorry I can't find the thread but maybe someone else can if they remember better than I do.

Any puddles under the vehicle, or hanging fluid drips from parts under the truck? Have you checked the tranny fluid? There should be instructions in the manual about how to do that.

I had a co-worker with a car that made noises and had trouble shifting, it turned out she was low on tranny fluid.

Ah here we go -- loose fuel line in this case.
Haha I wouldn’t doubt this, I work for Audi and we have a recall to place Foam in the unibody rails where the fuel lines run due to excessive shaking from fuel lines during idle. I noticed my maverick has kinda of the same noise intermittently but nothing as severe as the Audi Q3. Can literally feel tapping under the driver seat. But I could be wrong as I never looked under to see where the fuel lines run. High pressure fuel pump life.

I will be checking tomorrow! I didn’t look yet, as today’s drive cemented for me that this isn’t just a random thing here or there… it’s noticeable and disturbing to me currently… it was so cold today I didn’t feel like getting under the Maverick. I do know about the video referenced above. Mine slightly has that and that isn’t this… this is entire vehicle bogging/growl/vibration… when you slow down or speed up especially having to do that often between 19mph-29mph it’s horrible!! It does it though at any speed under 45mph slowing and accelerating. It’s like you want to push the accelerator harder just to make it stop as it’s a new truck and everyone is like what’s that?? It reminds me of driving stick shift and being in wrong gear for the speed…. I call it the “bogged down” can’t get its breath tried to accelerate mid gear shift noise?? Lol… maybe I can capture video? It’s more a feeling that audio issue… yes you can hear it… but you feel it in the floor boards, seats, dash, steering wheel…

Yep saw this… mine does that, not as loud, but this is a new issue… guess it could be that?? But this makes the entire vehicle vibrate and bogged down sounding 19-29mph is horrible!!

I will be checking engine/trans mounts, airbox, fluid levels, leaks, today… I did check parking brake- no light indicator is on, I even firmly depressed brake pedal and cycled that through and not noticing anything there… this could be a mount issue or air box issue…

I am remembering a time when I changed the engine air filter on my Kia Soul awhile back, and we had gone on vacation, driving around and especially on hills, the noise and the bogging down and vibration was roughly the same as is on Maverick… the airbox hadn’t been lined up just right and Didn’t seal…maybe the air filter box on Maverick came loose?? I didn’t touch it personally and didn’t overly inspect it from new… it’s been so cold out and the truck is just roughly 1,350 miles…. Was going to change oil at 600-1,000 but by 1,500!!

thanks for the support and suggestions… so your mav is smooth and quiet when shifting slowing down and accelerating around the 15-30mph area?!

I will be checking these today!! My mind goes to the catastrophic vs something like a stick stuck under the muffler lol! But yep, hopping to get under hood and undercarriage and see what’s going on if anything!

Steering, wheels, tires, and drive is flawless! No shimmy, shake, studded! All speeds above 32mph is perfection. This is felt in the seat of your pants, floor pans, dash, and when you decelerate driving on neighborhood roads, and then have to accelerate/decelerate often between 15-30mph and it’s like bogging and vibrating as in to get the noise to go away and trail off you gotta push gas harder and get it above 30mph… it’s like a breathing issue or tranny issue… hard to explain it! Lol

Check the obvious/easy to see things, then schedule service ASAP. You can speculate for days, while potential damage can get worse. Time to put your warranty into use.

What you describe is definitely not normal.

Still waiting for my Maverick. I'm just offering general automotive troubleshooting ideas. Good luck, and I hope it's something simple.

Agreed! So… just finished checking fluids, mounts, exhaust, etc. all seem perfect. So, test drove the truck today, minus the annoying and very slight low pressure fuel line rattle we all know about… it was perfectly normal!!! YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT WAS DIFFERENT?!? I DISABLED THE AUTO START/STOP FEATURE WITH THE BUTTON ON EACH DRIVE TODAY AND BY DOING SO IT NEVER BEHAVED THE WAY I HAVE DESCRIBED ABOVE! there is something with this feature??? I don’t know what’s going on, maybe it’s a coincidence… but the Maverick is scheduled for service next week non-the-less!
Thanks to everyone on here for suggestions and their experience of the Maverick….

Sorry for the cap locks above! Lol… lazy to fix it! So, the service next week will be to fix rear seat rattle, tighten/clamp down the low pressure fuel line issue, and to ensure everything is legit with truck with regard to issue I listed. Again, didn’t happen at all today, even when trying to piss the truck off with slowing down and speeding up at shifting intervals…. Again, turned off auto start/stop! Noticing a lot of owners saying the truck drives badly after a couple of the auto start/stops
