New member, long time looking at site. Salesman called today to say order has to be moved to MY23 due to Ford cutting off orders. I am quite upset. Placed order October 21 and received email from Ford next day. I asked salesman for rovp and he did not know. Said they do covp. I asked for copy and am waiting. He also asked for copy of license which I gave at time of order. I called Ford marketing and my order is in their system awaiting scheduling.
My question is the dealer pulling a fast one or did not put in covp or rovp. I am confused as to what each document is. Any insight would help.

Thanks for posting. I had the same call with my dealer yesterday. I posted in a bother thread but it was lost. The message I received was that if you don’t have a build date, you would be pushed out to 23 MY.

From what I have gathered, COVP was/is the term for most other ford models when a customer is custom ordering. ROVP is what they are calling the Maverick specific ordering system. So either COVP or ROVP should be an acronym your dealer is familar with and apparently the process is either 99% the same, or possibly even identical. But....in separate systems. That is what I am gathering.

As for the " order has to be moved to MY23 due to Ford cutting off orders", I think your dealer did not do the ROVP in October.... You can call Ford Corporate and ask them for the ROVP tracking number. If it is in there, they can give it to you. I know this because my dealer was giving me the runaround when I was asking for a screenshot of the ROVP and they kept sending me the original email order confirmation, not the ROVP. I called Ford and Ford gave me my ROVP tracking number. So I feel a bit better.

This makes no sense since they have PLENTY of time left to schedule orders. All this Spring and Summer. Since they aren't accepting any orders after today, everything they schedule from now on is prior orders (like ours).

It doesn’t make sense to me either but I’m scrambling here. I need a car sooner rather than later and if I’m looking at Q4 that’s a problem for me.

Quote myself here. This is what I found when I Google "Ford COVP".

ELIGIBLE VEHICLE LINES
All vehicle lines (excluding Mach-E, Bronco and specialty units) are eligible for verification and incremental allocation through the COVP process.
• Mustang (Non GT500 or Mach 1)
• EcoSport
• Escape
• Edge
• Bronco Sport
• Explorer
• Expedition
• Transit
• Transit Connect
• Ranger
• F150
• Super Duty

So it would seem I am correct. COVP is for most other models. ROVP is Maverick, normal Bronco, Mach-E, and......other specialty things specific.

Hmmm, my order was placed on October 30. Velocity Blue XL hybrid with just the drop in bed liner. My 2012 Chevy Colorado has 126,000 miles and seems to be running fine, but I am not happy with the gas prices at maybe 21 mpg on it. Didn’t get a call, but when I ordered I asked about What If scenarios and they said they would honor the 2022 price if it turned into a 2023 model.

The super secret (not really, just not super widely posted on their webpage) is 1-800-334-4375. That is technically for "Ford Marketing" or something like that. But it is where they send any calls for Maverick questions. I learned a while back that calling the main Ford Customer Service line just gets you sent over to these folks at 1-800-334-4375 as soon as they hear you are asking about a Maverick. I have seen people say they have to wait on hold for hours, but I have had to call a couple times and the longest I had to wait was maybe 10 minutes. Last time I called someone picked up in like 10 seconds. It really messed with my head. Haha. I was like.....are you a real human?

Right. I ordered a hybrid in early November and I wonder if if it is hybrid specific? The fact that it hasn’t been reported has me suspicious.

If your order is in the system, my suspicion is they want the truck to sell themselves and can make more money with additional “market” adjustments.

If you have an order in the system very likely it will be built - barring any unexpected update from Ford Corporate. I will say that getting this accomplished through your dealer without anything signed is likely another hurdle you will face - but a)Ford has confirmed your order b)they confirmed your order to your email address. So that is essentially “your” order - Long MacArthur Ford just did a video on dealer shenanigans and what you can do recommend you watch as possible. Good luck

It's got to be one or the other. Hopefully, you can get documentation of rovp or covp from your dealer.

The dealer still would have had to do the ROVP and submit your licensing info. If that part was not done then your order will just sit there and not be picked up. I'd be going to a dealership raising some HELL for answers. They have until 7 PM tonight to confirm your order with FORD. You'll have an order in the system, but it won't get picked up by Manufucturing to Build.
