Question: I have ordered an XLT- however I think we can all agree.. the lariat headlights and break lights are superior.
Will I be able to purchase lights from the dealership once I take delivery? Is it gonna be a simple swap or do the LED lights require additional wiring?

The LED headlight units for the maverick cost over $1000 from Ford just a heads up

I've heard they are about $1500 for the headlights (pair) not so sure about tail lights.

I would wait until the aftermarket industry makes some for the mav.
Price I'm not concerned about. More just wanna know if it'll be a simple swap or will I have to do any wiring?

Lariat headlamp assemblies are $1457/ea at MSRP (though a dealer near you may charge a bit less; one by me shows a touch under $1100/ea).

RH: https://parts.ford.com/shop/en/us/electrical/switches/headlamp-14199341-1
LH: https://parts.ford.com/shop/en/us/electrical/switches/headlamp-14200665-1

Tails are $382.22 MSRP.

RH: https://parts.ford.com/shop/en/us/e...ear-stop-and-flasher-lamp-assembly-14200421-1
LH: https://parts.ford.com/shop/en/us/electrical/lamps-and-lenses/lamp-14200667-1

Should've gotten a Lariat at that point. As for retrofits? Maybe?

with the model and additional features I am getting the Lariat was just a little out of my budget. That's why I'm asking. Don't have issue paying for them as long as it's budgeted out. So I'm just curious if it is even possible. And it seems like it is. So cool!

Note that Lariat Luxury Package is also more expensive than XLT Luxury Package because it contains the same features + more. So at MSRP it does end up over $5,000 more for a Lariat with Luxury Pkg over an XLT with Luxury Pkg. You get features that do provide value for that, but not everyone needs that.

Keep in mind you also have the ability to resale the xlt lights. From what I remember the xlt lights actually had a higher msrp than lariat for whatever reason.

You probably won’t be getting retail prices on them used but with how popular the maverick is going to be I’m sure somebody with a crashed vehicle wouldn’t mind saving a few hundred buying somebody’s used take off xlt lights.

No it's not an easy swap as of yet/not just plug and play, however in the future someone may find a way to do it and be cost effective - yes it would have been cheaper to get lariat from factory just for the price of the tail lights + headlights, but i do understand & agree budget for sure is why the maverick was a good buy in any package. i too hope something comes out reasonably priced.
