Nope, didn't ask for mine. My Maverick is currently sitting 2 and a half hours away in a storage depot and my dealer is keeping me up to date. Not sure if the license requirement claims are bunk or if the dealership did me a favor somehow.

I am extremely po'd as I write this.
I went to my nearest Ford Dealer in June and placed an order for a Velocity Blue Hybrid Lariat.
I received the confirmation email from Ford a week or so later and a follow up in Oct.
I've been following these forums for months to stay in the know of what's going on with production.
I decided to call the dealership this week to see if they had any news, I honestly wasn't expecting much since these forums seem to be more on top of things than most.
The dealer told me the order wasn't placed because they didn't get a copy of my drivers license and that Ford required it.
Grant it, they called after I placed the order and ask for a copy, but I didn't give it much attention figuring they just wanted my personal info.
Had they told me we won't place your order w/o it, I'd have got it to them.
So did you have to supply a copy of you DL for your order to be placed?

Yes it was required for me as well. They copied it and required a 500 dollar deposit for the order.

No. All the dealer asked for (via phone call) was my home address. Oh, and no deposit required either. This was in very early August.

Build date still TBA, but do have a VIN.

They took a copy of my drivers license front and back . They brought up picture of my house on google earth and had me confirm that's my home .

One of the many reasons my DL has a P.O. Box on it. The lady at the dmv, “what if you’re unconscious what will the ambulance do?” Take me to the hospital?

The drivers license was required. It’s possible that some slipped by without it but it is a requirement. Stinks but stay optimistic about the potential for 2023 upgrades.

My dealer did not require a copy of my driver's license and I have a scheduled production date of February 7th, so if you haven't already you should call the Ford customer service number to confirm that you have an order and don't believe a word that you're asshole dealer is telling you the # is 800-334-4375 just have your dealer code along with order code both will be at the upper right corner of your Dora And if for some bizarre reason you don't have that information just call the number anyway and go from there

I didn't follow up with anyone. I got an email updating the hybrid build status and that there was a truck with my name on it. I've attached a screenshot of part of the email and I'll be calling the number MyMaverick21 posted.

Keep us posted on your delivery, and how it all works out. See if your dealer will explain how they were able to do this with no DL confirmation. Very curious about this.... same for others who have confirmed orders with no DL given.

Could be possible to have an "order" incoming that is attached to you, and even receive emails from Ford about without giving your DL. That would be if it was an allocated Maverick that was ordered with (or changed to) your specs. Ford wouldn't require the DL for an already dealer allocated truck.

That ain't so my Dealer here in Hawaii didn't ask for my DL and I have my scheduled for production email from Ford for 2/7/22. But your dealer my vary

I've ordered 3 cars in 4 weeks and all required a copy of the DL.

When I picked up my Rogue, they wanted a copy of insurance even though it was a cash deal. What business of theirs is it?
I get that Nissan motor finance would be interested but I showed up with a bank check.
It could have to do with state law. Maybe they can't sell a car to someone without insurance (or a license either).
I didn't even question it.
