So, the news of this week of I-95 being shut down in VA for 30+ hrs and drivers stranded in their cars got me to thinking. Assuming you left the house with a full charge and a full tank of gas, would the Maverick survive idling under those conditions keeping the occupants warm for 30+ hours?

Same question for F150 lightening: Will those batteries take that level of cold?

Not sure about the Lightning but the hybrid Maverick would be OK, nice and warm plenty of gas left (y)

The hybrid mav would last just as long as anything else. Probably a bit longer with the cycling. Though that's the same as people just turning their ice's off and on. No idea about the lighting but those are some pretty big ass battery packs. I think just drawing battery power for the cabin would be more reliable than a ice just idling that long tho. I'd worry about your body in those conditions first obv

I was in Timmins, Ontario a few years ago and it was 40 degrees below zero. I let the Ford Taurus company car i was driving idle all night at the motel, rather than risk not being able to start it the next morning. It used ~ 1/8 tank and was toasty warm in the morning. So if your tank is full you can idle for a long time. Who drives around with a full tank though?

My mom. Never lets it get under half a tank in the winter. Also never misses a chance to remind me lol

After a gas run panic in Texas a couple of years ago, I never go below 1/4 tank.
