I’m curious what your reviews are of lane centering and adaptive cruise control. Is it very useful in the maverick or more a gimmick?

The ACC is awesome...works like a charm! No more braking on the interstate. However I have not tried the lane centering...perhaps someone can write about their experience with this option.

I have the Lariat Lux and had never had the ACC or Lane Center in a vehicle before this one. IMO they are both must have going forward. The Lane Centering in combination with ACC makes highway driving so much more relaxing. It’s not perfect and you have to stay attentive, but the ability to have an eye to eye conversation with someone or to access something in the car without worrying about leaving your lane or running over the car ahead is awesome.

For what it’s worth, that’s my 2cents worth. 😊

‘Twas a joke based off the thread title…

Good one. You had me thinking you were a fool, but the joke was on me too. Thanks for pointing it out to us slow ones. ;)

I've had lane keep and ACC on so many vehicles. I don't understand so many people are against it, it's weird. "Scary technology OOoOOoOOo".

Anyways, sucks we can't get ACC/Lane Keep in Canada on a hybrid, I will miss both.

(XLT LUX does not have lane keep - it is very different system than that of the Lariat, just lets you know you are leaving your lane. That's about it.)

The LKA is nice on a long interstate drive. I've played with it a bit to test it. I take my hands off the wheel and the truck will sway back and forth between the lines until I get a warning to put my hands back on the wheel. IMO it works very well and is a worthwhile safety feature.

I have three Fords and one Honda with ACC. Ford hit it out of the park. The ACC on my Honda Pilot is terrible. Whereas the Ford ACC allows you to smoothly signal and change lanes to pass with a subtle slow down and speed back up by the vehicle on its own, the Honda almost always slams on the brakes when I try to pass someone with ACC turned on.

The ACC is awesome keeps speed right on target. My Ram’s cruise control is always hunting up and down even on flat ground. The Maverick cruise is spot on. Haven’t messed with the lane centering yet, but if it’s as good as what’s on our Telluride, it should work great.

So basically you need technology because you are a distracted driver that cant keep his vehicle between two lines.
