I went to shop.ford.com to customize the XL with the same starting price as the XLT to see what I would get. The price of the packages and options have increased across the board . I checked the price yesterday, so I know what the prices are. XLT packages and options still remain the same price. Co-pilot 360 for XLT is still $540.

Let me give you a few example of price increase.

1. Co-pilot 360 was $540 yesterday, today it is $750, a $190 increase.
2. Soft folding tonneau cover was $550 yesterday, today it is $850, a $300 dollars increase WTF?!?
3. Trailer hitch receiver with 4 pin connector was $100 yesterday, today it is $140, a 40% price increase!
4. Full size spare tire was $115 yesterday, today it is $165, a $50 dollars increase.
5. Floor liner mat was $175, now $250.
6. Moonroof is now $1,115, before it was under $1000.
7. 400 W/110V outlet now $210.

Majority of all options and packages had a massive price hike in 2022.

I know Ford upped prices dec 27th for new orders. Old orders should still be honored.
I’ve been on the fence about whether to go through with buying my maverick that is arriving this week at the dealer, but maybe I will still purchase it, seeing how everything is going up.

This will probably just get worse for 2023 model. Ford probably doesn’t make much on XL and will up option costs more over time to keep starting price below $20K for advertising purposes, yet result in a $23,000 XL msrp after optioned.

I want a hybrid, but found out about the Ford Maverick only about 2 weeks ago. You can't order the hybrid until August 16, 2022 regardless. You would be getting the 2023 model. The Ford Dec. 27 price increase was only for the XLT and Lariat, and had nothing to do with the XL. Either this is a bug, or this was hidden from everyone, as it was not mentioned anywhere, and has nothing to do with Dec. 27.

If you want a 23 hybrid you will not be happy when those prices come out. I'd def order an EB now if that's what you want. Could save a few hundred bucks

If you don’t want it in the end I’m sure you can find someone super happy to buy it from you for everything you have Into it

I confirmed the option price increase on the site as well, but when I clicked on an option, all the prices reverted back to the lower, previously posted option prices which match the XLT options. Not sure what is going on with the site.

I just went on the shop.ford.com build site and built an XL. I don't see any of these increases.

I do see prices similar to what you report if I go on shop.ford.ca (the Canadian site), but those prices are in Canadian dollars, not US dollars.

Is it possible you accidentally went on the Canadian site?

Discuss...

[EDIT] I checked the Canadian site again this morning and the prices have changed again, this time to pretty much the same as the US prices. Which seems weird because of the difference in the Canadian and US dollar.

The site is definitely acting funky. I noticed it the past few days as well. Like it would let you config an XL Eco AWD w/ tow with the upgraded alloy wheels like the Canadians can, but it would break pricing or sometimes say you needed to upgrade to XLT.

As others here have mentioned this is either a bug or a preview of what the MY2023 prices will be.

Ford recently had a one week stoppage and had to pay double the cost to get some chips unstuck so they could continue building Mavericks. I believe they had to air lift the parts in. If this is required to keep getting parts I can see the reason for the increases.

The above price increases would have resulted in an increase of $375 in options for my Maverick:

Co-pilot 360 - $190 increase
Full size spare tire - $50 increase
Floor mats - $75 increase
400 W/110V outlet - $60 increase

The base price increase of $80 for the XLT would bring the increase to $455.

LOL I didn't snooze, I was hibernating instead. Woke up under a rock and the Maverick appeared, then disappeared before I could get my finger on one.

I shoulda added the moonroof. That would have been perfect for the hotboxes.
