The hitch receiver on a truck is like a full size spare. Better to have it when needed than not. Especially for the small additional cost.
FWIW My 2025 AWD XLT with the 2.0 EB came with a Hitch!! On the sticker under Exterior one of the things listed was Trailer Tow Hitch!!

I was afraid of that too, until I drove one. Put your foot down and the truck accelerates as fast (or faster) off the line than my Mazda 3 GT 6-speed manual, with a similar 2.5L engine.

The difference is the sound of the hybrid drivetrain, which makes your heart rate accelerate too. It sounds as though it will grenade at any second. Once you get past that, life is good.

I like mine quite well. The upgrade to the HF55 eCVT offers a higher torque capacity than its predecessor. It works surprisingly well, and allows 25-26 MY Mavericks to accelerate with authority.

It just sounds... weird. (At least to my ears.)
Your 2nd paragraph and last sentence I agree!! That's what turns Me off on the Hybrid not saying it's bad, but it sounds bad like You said about the engine grenading!!

I thought about a Lariat for My next Maverick but not without the 2.0 EB!! So I guess the next one will be another AWD XLT with the 2.0 EB like I have now!!
Look at the Tremor, it’s a gas :’P
Very much more off road capable,
Sits up TWO inches higher, the stock tires added the second inch.
The fatter, taller 17 inch tires and the more
Off road tuned suspension give it more
Of a big ‘Truck’ feel.
It’s a noticeably smoother softer ride, eats small bumps for breakfast.

The B&O sound system and the acoustic windshield make a noticeable difference improvement.
The trim package is sweet. Overall the Tremor gets a bit LESS gas mileage !

The Tremor due to it’s suspension is not the best choice for towing.

It’s a win win all around. I like everything about mine. I like it far more than my 2024 Lariat.

You have to get the Tremor which is basically the Lariat with EcoBoost, plus a different rear diff.
The only thing actually being lost if the ability to have a Lariat + EcoBoost + 4K Tow, as that option is not available on the Tremor.
And that is what my first and current are: Lariat Eco 4k. Which is the combo I prefer. If I was stuck with 2k, I would get the Lobo over the Tremor.

Wait, so the $2,395 upcharge for the Lariat Maverick 501A is just for the AWD!?!?!? The 500A is a FWD Hybrid?

It used to be on the Lariat that the base motor was the EB and the upgrade was the Hybrid AWD.

Makes sense. My 25 AWD XL was I believe $2,220 just to add AWD. And the few options is has was $4,250.

“Ford's margins are still only around 10%,”

No company can survive on a 10% margin.
Not even remotely possible.

You can say all you want CVT i will NEVER own period - you all can keep them - they are uninspiring - dead feel at acceleration. I do know cars was a FLM dealer for years.
You sir, are clueless.

The 191HP Hybrid with the E-CVT in AWD can chirp the tires from a stop. It is only one tenth of a second slower 0-60 than the Lobo with the 250HP 7 speed (TFL truck).

There is no dead feel at acceleration, but you wouldn't know that as you clearly have not driven one.

Ford is really trying to sway people off of the XL's. 4 crappy color choices? Really? I will definitely be keeping my Eruption Green 25 XL, if possible. I will re-evaluate when the new body style comes out next year.

I am trying to find the color choices for XL that you refer to. I currently have a 2026 XL in light blue waiting for me at the dealer but wondering if I should cancel and switch to a Glacier Grey 2027 XL instead. It’s a fantastic color. Is it not going to be available for the XL?

Glacier Gray, white, black, and velocity blue. I haven't seen Glacier yet, but it's another Gray in a sea of gray scale. Velocity is too light for my tastes.
