Maverick is a cruising machine!

I love driving my hybrid Maverick especially on long trips but I cruise at a very comfortable 7 to 10 over.

I‘ll have to check with the cruisin‘ club to see if 7-10 over is allowed. You might have to drop it under 5 to qualify. I’ll check the charter.

Just over 400 miles today all 65 and up. Burlington to Superior WI. Tremor soaks up road breaks and construction bumps. Android Auto for navigation works fine and listened to Audible Harry Potter all the way. 27.5 MPG average on the lie-O-meter.

Superior to Devlis Lake today. Hit 30 MPG on the lie-O-meter. Will hand calculate tomorrow at next fill. Great ride all the way, plenty oomph for passing. Again mostly 70 MPH speed limits.

New tires today. I went with the Michelin cross climates. Supposed to be pretty rainy here in upper Massachusetts/lower NH. We’ll see.

I, personally, don’t see a need to “hyper mile” with the great gas mileage I get driving normally. Driving around town there is generally no fast lane. I drive the speed limit. On the highway I’m mostly looking out for those who feel weaving in and out of traffic will save them 30 seconds off their drive. That means I stay in the right lanes and keep it at a steady speed no more that 5mph above. If that’s not good enough for people behind me they can pass to the left and get to that all-important destination soooo much quicker.

Hand calculated this morning and averaged 27 MPG over the last 240 miles. Fuel gauge is odd to be seems to read low but still has plenty of fuel. Good piece of 80 MPH ND and MT, keeps up easily and soaks up road irregularities very well. Drove thru a large rainstorm and the tires gripped very well.

Yeah... I was thinking the same thing. A "rough ride" is not how I'd describe the experience I've had so far. Even my wife calls our Mav "smooth and quiet."

About 10 over for me. Round here any less and I’d get run over. Gotta keep up with the police !
