Yep. Or if Toyota wants to do a Stout Prime, that would be okay too.

I'd like to see them do it rav4/prius prime style. larger traction battery with more output capability so more ev assist for a greater total HP on top of 40-50 miles of EV range.

I still wish someone would hook the 3 input sources up to actual small motors, have a display for RPM.... and to visually see it happen would be interesting too.
Great idea - That would solve another problem - The near total lack of things to look at inside of the vehicle instead of the road...
Yes, sarcastic, yes it would be interesting, and yes it would be distracting.

Ah - my comment was to the video and the geared display he had setup.

Not in the truck.

Here, have an hour long video instead... 😆

I stumbled across that video last week. It is a fantastic video and really changed my perspective on the hows and whys of hybrids.

I ran across this and I thought it was interesting.

This is largely focused on Toyotas, but it's an interesting description on how eCVTs work -- and Ford uses pretty much the exact same system in the Hybrid.
Cool! But, I still love shifting in my 350Z!

Mostly, this makes me long for a PHEV Maverick even more. Or even just a little more battery capacity, so that I can win the Staying In Electric Mode game a little longer.
Wife has the '25 RAV4 PHEV. Gets 46 miles before she touches gas mode every day means she has only "filled the tank" 4 or 5 times in a year (and only half a tank at a time so it doesn't go bad). We traded in her Tesla 3 for it. She only agreed to test drive when I told her the torque and 0-60 were almost equal.
Would trade my '25 Lariat in for PHEV tomorrow if there was an option for it.

this is like the 5th video i've seen in the past few months explaining eCVT. it's like suddenly everyone discovered it.
Very clever system, hope I never have to mess with the software/ controls part of it.
I at first discounted the Maverick because I thought it was the belt and pully system. Then, I found it was the eCVT and I jumped on it.

I have seen you on here many times and was always curious about your handle. I thought it sounded like something from a fantasy novel which I often read so I asked my AI and it said that Tiktok says you are a "writer/witch/weirdo". Is any of that true.? Also I am from Avoca, WI and am headed there in a few days to visit family. Go Badgers!

Yes, what the water destroying plagiarism machine said is true. 😆

There are, like, links in my signature about stuff I make if you're actually curious. I don't want to derail the thread to talk about me though. 😀
