Last night I had the automatic update for the trailer thing.
Today my Sync 4 screen freezes constantly.
I use Google map but now the screen freezes after just few minutes again and again and so on.
Does anyone else experience the same issue?

Google maps just did a recent update. That may be causing an issue. We have not had any customers complaining about the sync 4 system either before or after updates thus far. But, if the problem persists, I do recommend taking it in to get it checked out.

I just had the trailer update done on our 2025 Lariat (last week at our dealer) and have had no issues with our Sync 4 screen or maps...but we use Waze (owned by Google now, but still separate). Waze has been working perfectly lately.

Maybe try using Waze if Re-downloading Google maps app doesn't work, to try and sort it out...if it is causing the screen freezing?

That may isolate the issue, as if Waze is used and your screen still freezes (or not), or even not connecting at all to see if the built in map works properly and see if the rest of the Sync 4 functions operate with or without freezing.

A visit to the dealer as Daryll suggested, may be needed if all else fails.

Just a some thoughts to try a few things to isolate what may be the cause of your issues.

I hope you get it sorted out, and please let us know if you get it sorted and what was the possible cause.

As an old-school IT tech I suggest two simple things first:
1) Reboot your phone
2) Reboot the infotainment system in the truck (I think like this: Press and Hold the Radio Power Button/Volume Dial and the Seek button (>>) at the same time for about 5-10 seconds until the Ford symbol flashes on the screen and it resets.)

A hard reset (factory reset) is the next try. This will lose all you settings and you will have set it back up. Not sure which option to choose from below:

From the owners manual:
1. Press Settings on the touchscreen.
2. Press General.
3. Press Reset.
You can perform multiple resets from this
menu.

In case it helps I had the trailer update at the dealer, and no issues.
Sounds like a trip to the dealer is in order if a reset doesn't work.
BTW - Does the active recall still show up ? I'm wondering if it didn't complete normally...

I have a 25 Hybrid XL. I was notified that the update was done last night. No issues today. I haven’t pulled a trailer today to test it though.

A hard reset (factory reset) is the next try. This will lose all you settings and you will have set it back up. Not sure which option to choose from below:

Another diagnostic test is to use a USB cable to connect the phone to the vehicle, if that works then - well, I'm stumped, a service visit would probably be in order as I don't know how to troubleshoot the radio connection to the phone, which uses WiFi in Sync 4.

You don't mention the make and model of your phone - if Android, you can try going into the phone Settings, search for Android Auto, look for Connected Vehicles, tap the Ford entry, and tell it to "forget" the vehicle. Then you can re-add the phone to the car using the infotainment system.

Can't help with iPhone stuff.
