Another reason to do your first oil change early as I was doing today at 2500. The tiny oil filter that the truck ships with for some reason.

So it doesn't rip in half dealing with the over-torqued install!

Perhaps too - slightly dirty causes more filtering.
Since so many like OilGeek - he's commented on that, recently I think for Taco 1st filter change, though oil done 2 times I think.

Yeah, I think a gorilla put my filter on, had to struggle for about 10 mins to get it off. I was hoping I wouldn't rip it in half.

On the original topic, I did my first oil change at 5k. I was intending to keep this interval, but the more I read, the more I am considering just obeying the all knowing OLM.

My break-in period has always been. Get in the vehicle and drive it. With two expiation a 1977 Subaru Brat with 300,00 miles and a 1991 Dodge Dakota 4 Cylinder after 110,000 miles, the vehicle wears out, before the engine dies.
