Just like the title says. My 2025 XLT 2.0l seems to have a rough idle or vibration when in drive or reverse and stopped using the brakes. Idles smooth when in Park or Neutral or when off the brakes in drive/reverse. Also acceleration is fine.
What I mean by rough idle is more of a vibration. Can feel it in the seat/steering wheel/floor. The engine immediately smooths out when off the brakes or when putting the truck in park/neutral.
HVAC off and engine fully warmed up.

It’s not so bad that I’m immediately taking it to the dealer but very noticeable. My 2023 2.0 definitely did not experience this. Is this just how the 25-26 2.0 engines are?

My 2024 Ecoboost has a slight vibration intermittently when stopped in drive. It seems more frequent after a long sustained drive. I usually shift into neutral like you described to avoid feeling the vibration through the steering wheel. To my understanding 4 cylinder engine are inherently unbalanced and require a balance shaft to prevent vibration so I assumed some small amount of vibration might be normal. I’m interested to read what others may say.

My 2025 XLT does the same thing.

I've noticed some slight vibration intermittently when stopped in a red light. This happened when I got 89 octanes gas.
With 91 octanes runs smooth

To hold a good baseline or point of reference,
My 2024 AWD Ecoboost Lariat has no vibrations of any kind under any of the above mentioned conditions.

18,500 miles on the clock.

Like you, I was shifting into neutral, whatever stopped, but after doing some research on the web, the consensus seems to be that that’s a bad practice for several reasons. One of which is apparently the shifting back-and-forth from neutral to drive causes additional wear on the transmission and the transmission solenoids plus there are traffic safety concerns. It seems like a bad design by Ford.

Interesting, I somehow had a feeling shifting to neutral all the time might not be a great idea.
I have 43k on a direct injection only ecoboost so it might be time to start thinking about an intake valve cleaning and spark plug replacement. I don't recall noticing the vibration when the truck was brand new. In any case the vibration at this point is very subtle. I drove a company Chevy Colorado the other day, 4cyl with 70k, and it did the same thing only much more noticeable.
