Thats awesome. I bought mine for the exact same reason. I have yet to use it for that though. Can you describe/explain what you had to do "truck wise"? ie. Any setting you needed to change. Any switches you needed turned on.
Once the trailer is plugged in it has a trailer screen that comes up. You enter the length of your trailer and if you want sway control on or off. I keep it on.

Hooking up to the trailer is very easy. Once you are lined up put the tailgate in the half position and it makes it even easier to hook up. You don't need any fancy auto backup that is an option to get on the Maverick. I never had a trailer before and hooking up is not an issue at all.

When you are towing put the Maverick in tow mode and play with your brake control gain to get it so you aren't getting pushed by the trailer when you are braking. I have mine set to 5.5 right now.

I added a magnetic wireless backup camera on my trailer to act as a rear view mirror while towing and backing it up. I will also add tow mirrors to my Maverick soon.

Nice setup! Last weekend, we had our second outing with our 2016 NuCamp T@B 320 CS-S to Trap State Park, DE. The dry weight is almost 1,800 lbs and the 4K-Hybrid had no problem hauling it (we didn't go off-road), and got around 21 mpg.

If the Maverick gets a bump to 5K tow, we'll consider getting the bigger T@B 360 that's 3,100 lbs dry.

Let us know which trailer tow mirrors you get. The only thing I found was some that sort of strap on the existing mirrors that shake pretty good at highway speeds. I wouldn’t recommend them.

Here’s the amazon link to them-

Had our first camping trip with the Trailer this past weekend! The past few years we have been tent camping and it was time for an upgrade! What an awesome experience it was. We picked a close camp ground for the first trip to make sure everything worked with our new Trailer. It was only 20 minutes from our house but it felt like a different world for 2 days. I always said I wanted a cabin in the woods and now we have a little cabin we can take places! The weather was chilly. It got down to the upper 30s one night and only upper 50s during the day. It also rained for a while. But the heater in the camper worked great and sitting by the fire at night listening to the owls with a full moon was awesome! The kids had a blast. You know its a good trip when they are crying when we had to head home. My wife had a blast and our dog loved exploring everything!

My Maverick handled the trailer (2025 jayco jay flight slx 170bh) without an issue. I would say loaded the trailer was around 3200lbs (empty its 3000lbs). Tongue weight was probably just under 400lbs (empty its 300lbs). It was all back roads to the camp ground with some very steep hills. Max speed on some of the roads I was going 55 (50 speed limit). Averaged around 15mpg. Can't wait for more adventures!

Have almost the same trailer.
Pro Tips:

Put stabilizer jacks on the front.
Get a lock for your fridge door.
Looks like you have the same / similar fridge to mine. This lock is awesome and about $10 at hardware stores.

Some of you people should consider one of these. My Maverick will tow it easily but I have kept my 2020 Ranger to do the towing. This hard sided Tent Trailer sets up in minutes and has Solar, AC, Microwave, Refrigerator, Stove, Sink, Two Batteries and Two Propane tanks. It's way cool. I had a soft sided one but it was getting to be to much work setting it up. This new one is awesome. They are nice too because they are not like towing a big sale. Better gas mileage with less stress on the vehicle.

Thanks for the suggestions! My fridge has a strap that goes across the front when traveling so it doesn't open! I have some stabilizer jacks that I can place under the front. Didn't use them this time and it worked out well but I have them just incase.

Looks great and sure beats a tent and a pop up but would be a tight fit with a family of 4 and a dog.

While I can promote the A-liner style of trailer all day long. It does lack something a lot of people want. An indoor toilet and shower.
I'm going to go out on a Short Limb and suggest, the picture below 👇🏻 shows one of the biggest reasons the OP Matt bought the trailer he did. If not, I'm sure it didn't hurt.

An indoor bathroom with shower sure helps the wife and kids get on board.
Something a-liners lack.

Hey there fellow traveler!
I was wondering how you found the mirror coverage? We also just purchased a 17ft trailer and found that the drive home was a bit harrowing as the trailer was much wider than our 2022 Mav. We decided to purchase a couple of those terrible mirror extensions for our next trip.

Yeah I can't see around the side of it since it's an 8 foot wide trailer. What I did after I brought it home last October was buy a magnetic wireless rear camera I stick on the trailer bumper. I keep it on the full trip and use that as my rear view mirror. For side mirrors I'm going to try these https://a.co/d/09DTrXrr

Does your screen not have the [+] on it when backing? Instead of setting the tail gate to 1/2 open.

It does but I find it even better when the tailgate is in the half position.

Ok Ajax 2026 Hybrid Lariat guy here with the GEO PRO 17LE travel trailer. I did my first long trip 200k one day and 250k the next. All went very smooth. I didn't need tow mirrors for my 7foot wide trailer. The truck will use the side mirror cameras which come on when I signal. I have barely used the trailer hitch assist but it won't work if you have one foot curb on the driveway and not be able to get the truck level before reaching the coupler. The trailer assist is still a learn in process but just need a bit more practice. Looking for trailer camera at the back. Tongue weight is 400lbs at the max for the Mav. I was also looking at the replacement of the trailer battery with a Lifepo for weight and more power. The trailer dealer said that the 7 pin connector wont trickle charge the Lifepo. Not sure if he is correct.
