Yeah I’d suspect the high dollar used values only apply to very low mile specimens.Out of curiosity, I looked at my 2023 FX4 with 40k miles, and their offer was… not compelling.![]()
Agreed. I was surprised at the $15,200. I had checked a few weeks earlier and they were offering a little over $13K. When i got the $15,200 offer my wife and me agreed to grab it. Having only 20K miles i am sure helped a lot. I am not sure if the color helped (hyper green, 2 year color)or hurt. Being the original owner with all paperwork, keys etc helped. I checked and did see it posted on their site for $20,990.710-oil-614
Agreed on the price spike. My comment was in regards to the reported large difference between Carmax and Carvana quotes noted on post #87.
Other users on this thread had different results.
IIRC, Carmax was ~ $1K ahead on a comparable Carvana quote.
No i didn't sell my Mav i sold my 2017 Jeep Renegade. I love my Mav, i only have around 8K miles on it and have been Getting 45-50 MPG. I bought a 10 year service contract for it (thanks to this forum) and have had it treated twice with rustproofing so it doesn't rot away like everything else here in the land of salt.@Blackbelt I didn't doubt what you reported, just that it was a surprise.
So, you sold the Mav...
Are you going to buy another one?
I think the 22's were "introductory priced" with a 15% discount to get production volume increased. I had a late 22 lariat base model hybrid with only trailer hitch added (pickup mandatory item) that came in three months before my 23 lariat EB Tremor. Dealer gave me $10k over MSRP trade-in for 22 when the Tremor came in.We traded in our original '22 Mav hybrid to Carvana back in late 2024, and put in an order for the same in a '25 model. After almost three years and 25K miles they paid us what we originally bought the truck for. Incredible how it kept its value, and we were able to start the new vehicle warranty again with some additional bells and whistles. Yours is a lot more recent than our situation but it is still tempting, I can tell.
Do you think that $22K for a 2022 Eco XLT with 37K miles is below market value ?Being the optimistic type, I consider the low resale value of my ecoboost to be a blessing in disguise - because it convinces me to just keep it. I have a 2022 XLT ECO LUX AWD CP360 with 37,000 miles. Totally reliable, aside from new tires. My Carvana offer here in WNC is $22,000.
I was interested in the Slate, but it seems ridiculous for me to sell this very comfortable, very reliable, really all-around great ride to buy a stripper. And pay real money to do it! Yea, I like the idea of a smaller electric truck, but I'd be surrendering all the creature comforts I so love in this Maverick - heated seats, heated steering wheel, electric everything, nice bed management and lighting, AWD - it would be insane to trade that for a massively inferior driving experience and still pay money.
If anyone asks me what the most sensible Maverick purchase is, I'd point them to a lightly used Ecoboost every day. Because at almost 30 MPG, it's really not that much worse than a hybrid for fuel economy if you drive on the highway a lot at real speeds. And the original owner ate most of the depreciation. I think if somebody were to buy my Eco for what Carvana offered - they'd be getting a total steal. So if you reverse that logic - I figure I'm getting a real steal by keeping it. And there is still time on the powertrain warranty.
So that's my twisted logic for feeling good that my Ecoboost has depreciated quite a bit.
yes. With the present demand, i do.Do you think that $22K for a 2022 Eco XLT with 37K miles is below market value ?
I'm seeing them listed with that millage for 26-29,000Do you think that $22K for a 2022 Eco XLT with 37K miles is below market value ?
Living in a more rural area (the nearest city is seven miles away and with ~10K people, although projected to rise dramatically in the next decade - low COL) I wouldn't be interested in an all-electric vehicle of any type, especially from a company just getting started. If you move in that direction I wish you the best.I was interested in the Slate
$8500.I think the popularity of the Maverick has really increased the Carvana offers just for the heck of it I had then provide me an offer for my 2004 Jeep Wrangler TJ which has had a frame off restoration and was really disappointed with their offer of $2,100 lol not even close
