Curious if anyone with a VIN has checked the CarMax and Carvana offer values and compared it to what you paid?

Great question. I just pulled a random vin and tried going through the Carvana quoting system and I got all the way to the end before getting a "You stumped us with this one" message.

Just checked and the offer was exactly what my MSRP was. So I would lose about $2k in tax and licensing. 🙁

Did manual carvana appraisal they offered me $33k on a msrp of $30.8k. Just enough to break even after taxes and fees. I’m guessing the used mav market isn’t big enough for their algorithm to work yet so they might want to be conservative with their offers.

Those are awesome TRADE IN prices. If you want to make your money, sell it yourself 5k more than you are into it for.

I bought a fully loaded Lariat FX4 at the end of September to hold me over until my Rapid Red Hybrid FE is scheduled/built. I reached out to Carmax, Carvana, and Vroom about a month ago and Vroom was the only one to give me an offer. They offered me about $11,000 below MSRP and I only had about 500 miles on it at the time. I am kind of interested to see what they would offer now. Below is the offer I received on 10/18

I tried checking mine on Carmax and Carvana again today and both still need to have an appraiser look at it to make an offer.

We'd like to see your car
Online offers are based on recent appraisals of similar cars, and we haven't seen many like yours lately.

For your 7-day offer, stop by your local CarMax.

I will probably go in to get an actual appraisal once my RR Hybrid FE is ready for delivery.

I just tried through Edmunds which feature CarMax and got a message the vehicle was too new or too rare for them to process the request. Be interesting to see how they value the new Mavericks.

If they offered you $33k that means its retail value is now probably $36-40k if you sell to someone else.
