Fwiw I used the free ForScan program to zero out all the seatbelt Nannie’s in our 25. We always buckle so we don’t miss them. Easy tweak.

I have a 25 also. Can you fix mine if i drive to Memphis? ;-)

Why do you NEED anyone on this forum to explain the logic of the Ford engineer?

I don't need or expect that at all. In post #31 I said "I'd LOVE to hear how a Ford engineer tries to make any sense whatsoever out of this." That doesn't mean that I think there are any Ford engineers on this forum (or at least on this thread). Am I not allowed to express that sentiment (that I'd love Ford to explain the logic)?

But nobody appreciates someone else saying false things about them, which is why I responded clarifying that I never said buckling the rear seat belts would not eliminate the pop-up screen.

Some of y'all need to chill out and carefully read what another says before you jump to the unfounded conclusion that they're arguing with you.

OK, and here's my video. No seat belt warning/reminder/whatever. All this proves is that your '23 XLT hybrid demonstrates different behavior under these conditions than my '25 Lariat does. Satisfied?

I've never seen a seatbelt system so convoluted as this one on the Mavericks. Simple, clean, easy is not a language spoken by Ford software folks. No need for this level of sophistication. "KISS principle. always works. Just get a Forscan tool and turn all seatbelt reminders/warnings/suggestions and hand slaps off. Most who use it find it is nice for several other features also. The OBD tool is about $25-$75, some work better than others. Then you will need a Windows laptop. I have used it with Windows 7, 10 and 11, no issues. You can get a free license for two months. When it expires, get another one.

Okay here is my attempt to explain the LOGIC. The front seats have sensors to tell the computer they are occupied. The rear seats do NOT have sensors. All 5 seat belt female sections have sensors showing the seat belt is buckled. So in order for Ford to avoid liability in the event of a lawsuit they came up with the pop up REMINDER. As we all agree, if the rear 3 are buckled and occupied front seats are buckled NO pop up occurs. So the pop up will happen if any of the rear are unbuckled so YOU are REMINDED to check to confirm the rear seats are UNOCCUPIED. By pushing OK you are accepting the liability for any injury to unbuckled rear seat occupants. I would not be surprised to find that the OK pushes are saved with a time stamp for a length of time like 6 months that Ford could access to verify you pushed OK while the rear seat was occupied.
Just a theory as to why it is that way. Why it is like this doesn't matter it is what it is and we have to live with it or work around it. In post #4 @NIKwithoutaC said buckling the 3 rear worked on his 2026.

If you buckle the rear belts or buy a "bottle opener" dummy latch the pop up disappears as soon as occupied front seats buckle up. If you buckle up before starting the truck you won;t see it at all.

EDIT: I reviewed all of my interactions with you and YOURS with other members. You argued and argued with us about the door locking automatically. Turns out I gave you the answer to your situation in that instance. You seem to want to split hairs with everyone unless they agree with you.

Thanks, I don't have a printer and really would never need to buy one. The seat belts are free . Plus when I do have a rear seat passenger they immediately see the belt is buckled so I don't need to remove the dummy device. Hopefully others who have printer can use your link.

I did thank you for suggesting an alternative reason for the locking door - which proved to be the true reason. The ones I "argued" with were those who were so insistent that they knew better than I did when it came to what I was experiencing, and that sooner or later I would have to admit that they were right about me allegedly having locked the door when I opened it. My repeated statement that that was NOT what was happening opened the door for you to analyze other possibilities and make a suggestion which proved to be true (and, one more time, I thank you for that).

And being dismissive is definitely NOT "friendly, cordial, and helpful." There is indeed value, when pursuing the truth, in correcting others' statements (or, if you so choose, "arguing") when those statements are incorrect and lead the discussion AWAY from a resolution. Had I not "argued" with those others, we still would not know the true cause, and therefore I would still be experiencing the issue from time to time. All too often people are dismissive when they disagree with something that someone else posts, even when that post describes that person's experience. Just because someone else posts something that is different from what you experienced does not mean that that person is confused, ignorant, or blind to the truth. It just means that they experienced something different from you, and because you were not there, you don't know enough about it to be dismissive.

I bought 5 belt extenders for my 2024 XLT Hybrid from the Ford parts site for 2 cents each 2 years ago. They work like a charm...you'll never have to hit OK again for a seatbelt advisory. I checked and there are only 2 in stock.
