Nifty device and never knew any such thing existed! Glad it was there with you AND it was able to perform exactly what you needed it to do. Glad all went well ..... until you get the repair bill

Oof. Unfortunate rocks are the mortal enemy of low ground clearance. The most painful thing for me though are those tiger stripes on a brand new vehicle :(

There I was out in the Mojave Desert, where I have had a 4x4 for 30+ years. I have never been stuck or hurt my vehicle.
Today was that day.

This was the first time, and yes, that was the rock we pulled out. In my defence, it was buried, and only the top 1/3 of the rock was above the ground.
We decided to try out the yellow bag of greatness. Yes, that's what we refer to it now. Hooked it up to the air compressor, and in no time, the tuck was off the rock enough to get the rock out there.

You can find it here if you want one. I highly recommend it.
ALL-TOP Jack: https://amzn.to/3P6ZT7Y
Air compressor used: https://amzn.to/4bw406g

Then came the second rock. I know, a second rock of the day.

Same deal: the rock was only 1/4 of the way out of the ground. My front suspension hit it, pushing the rock out of the ground and rolling under the truck. I was going about 5 MPH. I kid you not, 5 MPH.

So the yellow bag of greatness to the rescue: https://amzn.to/3P6ZT7Y

The photo above shows the rock after it was pulled out.

You might be wondering about any damage. Well there was some
IMG_3566.webp

I bent the exhaust pipe just a tad, and I also bent the rear drive shaft. I was able to drive it to the dealership. Once I got above 23 MPH, the vibration stopped, and the noise went away. Lucky day.

Moral of the story:
1. Get a yellow bag of greatness: https://amzn.to/3P6ZT7Y
2. Never go alone
It's time for Borla

Question: Did you happen to note whether or not this magic jack left any slight damage at all to the pinch-welded seams where you placed it both times?

No damage that I could see. It has now hard edges. It’s basic a very thick balloon

Maybe not rock crawling but the "advanced 4WD" on the Tremor is surprisingly capable.
If you pay attention and don't get stupid, I agree it's a great little truck. It's not going to go places a Bronco or a Wrangler can.

I can see why you didn't fill it with engine exhaust!
Thanks for the cautionary tale!
I owned a bag-lift in the 70's and loved it. I had assumed that they were no longer available!
$159 seems a bit pricey, but they are very handy.

I honestly believe mavericks are not built for off roading,
They aren't, the tremor is built for rough roading. Everything is an off roader if you arent scared of damage though, lol.

The air bag looks like one of those tools that's great to have, especially if you never need to use it.
