Hey I just found this on Etsy (it’s on Amazon too) just wondering if any one has installed this or if you have any comments on the product or the supplier

i just moved my rear camera to this location but seems this is a much better solution and adds another layer of protection

I also included a photo of my installation

It is obviously 3D printed. Is there a model out there anywhere?

If not, we can make one, although an ABS print is probably worth the $40 if you aren't already set up to print ABS.

Yes it’s definitely 3D Printed it seems that they offer a number of parts similar to this one. I like they specifically stated it was for the Maverick and the WolfBox G900 Tripro rear cameras - I just got notified it shipped so hopefully I’ll get it mounted in a few days 👍

Oh sweet! Yes, let us know how it works out, how it feels as far as sturdiness, mounting, etc. and how well the mount goes.

If it looks good I'll probably buy one too.

Will do and I’ll post some pictures - I just realized they shipped it via USPS so it’s probably gonna take a week but I’ll provide the update👍

@Dave O My only concern is the mounting, and relying on what I (think) I see are only 2 small screws. With the added air resistance of the camera profile, as well as going thru a car wash, I hope it doesn't crack and fall off.

The four screws that mount the 3rd brake light to the truck are pretty hefty and about 2 1/2” long I suspect the screws pictured aren’t applicable to the install I’m hoping that’s the case and I just reuse the longer OEM screws since they are needed to secure the brake light to insure it’s tight against the seals. I don’t normally use cashwashes I rather hand wash but that can change depending on the situation when I’m away from home. Good point and legit concern

My first thought was that the screws in the image (left) look like self-tapping sheet metal screws, which seems bad, but the head profile is the same as the original mount screws in the OP's picture (middle) so they are probably the same. The screws shown in the image WITH the mount (right) look totally different, like they were just put in the picture by accident.

Hopefully, either the existing screws are long enough or identical but longer screws either come with the mount or can easily be obtained from a hardware store.

I agree though that the screws are very important and that the ones pictured beside the mount are probably just a bad photoshop job, or maybe those are meant for something else entirely that I don't understand.

---

My experience is that things stay pretty well stuck to cars at speed unless terribly poorly attached. I've attached many things with magnets and never had them fly off. Fortunately if it were to break lose, on both screws, the camera would be retained by the cord and swing back behind the cab window where the wind shouldn't bother it much.
However, I'd expect that to happen right away to everyone or never. It is ABS so it will survive. It is either well designed or it is not. We'll know in a few days.

I totally agree I’ve seen a lot of photos of hardware or parts that were poorly displayed I am looking forward to getting this installed and it won’t be a deal breaker if I have to pick up a few like OEM screws but a little longer. I would think that before you go to market with something so specific you’d do your homework so my fingers are crossed…

Just got confirmation the rear camera bracket is scheduled to be delivered today (3 days early) this will be the last part of the installation being I have not decided if I’m going to install the 3rd in cabin camera I keep going back and forth on this and definitely haven’t identified the best spot to mount it if I choose to install it..

Unless you're doing Uber, an in-cabin camera does nothing except capture you doing embarrassing things. :)
