Got my notice of an upcoming recall for my 25 AWD Hybrid. Does anyone know anything about the specifics of it yet?

I ask because I'm having an issue with the Parking brake engaging randomly when I put the truck in park and I'm curious if this is something that will be addressed by the recall repair when it is released, or if I should be getting it into the shop...

Does this recall have a title or number? It's going to be somewhat difficult to talk specifics if we don't even know what you're talking about.

Most likely it's already been discussed and there are already threads on it, so if you come up with the name/topic/number, feel free to search for it on the forum.

I'm not noticing a cause/effect relationship similar to any of these, yet. It usually takes a couple tries to get it to release once it's set, though. It's the 25C69 recall, so I'll have to read a little more about it to see if they're related.

I received the recall notice in the mail and was told the fix is not ready and that I would be notified when it’s available - fortunately I have not experienced any issues so I’m not going to lose any sleep over it…

I received the recall notice on the Ford app and by mail. I just checked and the recall no longer appears in my Ford app. There is nothing to indicate any fix applied. Maybe it was determined mine was not in the recall. Mysteriously, I can not find the written notice I received. How did Ford do that?

Are you parked on a slope when your parking brake randomly engages on its own?

I have never used my parking brake in the year I’ve owned my Maverick is there a indicator on the dash when the parking brake is engaged?

That is exactly what the recall is for. I was told the fix for the 2025 was available as of yesterday afternoon, but my service department couldn't get it to work on a 2025. I think Ford had to update the FDRS tool that dealers use. Hopefully that will get done today. In the meantime, use your electronic parking brake every time you park your vehicle.

Thanks for sharing this. Oddly, aside from the brake engaging on its own, I haven't experienced anything unusual when in park. My 2024 Hybrid, on the other hand, definitely would roll while in park...used to give me that feeling you get when you catch the vehicle next to you moving, out of the corner of your eye, while you're stopped at a light.
