Removed the rear badge today. It is a 4 piece and fairly straight forward. The double sided tape is the toughest to deal with. When prying the oval from the large base trim piece, take your time and use a microfiber cloth with your plastic pry tools. I marred mine up a bit. The next part is the hardest! Separating the white lettering and oval (one piece) from the black piece. There are two clips that need pinched and released. Looks easy but the tape between the two pieces will make you second guess your life. I broke one of the clips. There are plastic welds on the back that need be lightly drilled. LIGHTLY!!! I broke the top of the white oval while drilling the welds. Thankfully I was able to glue it. Once all plastic welds are drilled, the two pieces will separate. Paint the parts whatever colors you like and reassemble.
I’ll post updated when reassembled.

Well my 11 year old and I are having some fun with it. It will be his first car, if it lives that long in 4 years. So, we are doing it his way.
Very cool Dad. Keep up those times together. They grow up much too fast.

How did you get the rear view camera out. I took mine off and just put tape over the lens because removing the screws did not help. I sprayed mine with black chrome paint from duplicolor. Did not like the chrome.

There were torx screws holding in a backplate. Then a giant piece of double sided tape keeping it stuck. Once that was removed the camera fell out. That’s probably what held you up.

Why to do that? What is wrong with the original?

Absolutely nothing. It is preference. I like things personalized, custom one of a kind. I don’t do it for anyone’s approval or acknowledgment. I do it because I like it. I’m teaching my son how to take something everyone has and make it different. We get to work with tools, our hands and use our imagination. It’s not your cup of tea, that’s okay.

Free man in a free land, and all that. Plus, he's doing it for his son. Reason enough right there.
Love that! ☝🏽 Thank you.
