Once in a while you find a decent one - but it is rare. That is one of the reasons why I never visit a dealership. I get already goosebumps when I see these sharks lurking at the entrance area and then approach me with the sleezy attitude. Usually request OTD prices from dealers by mail. Or go straight to either of the two trustworthy ones (Granger or McArthur). Well worth the few bucks for a airplane ticket and gas.
It took me awhile to find it but it saved me from the pain and agony of dealing with A holes.

The Maverick selling 7% over MSRP right now? This is the biggest BS.
Wow, the media nowadays is unbelievable. I got my wife's 25' for almost 4k below MSRP. Granted it was a 25 but I am sure the 26' can be bought below MSRP as well. Who would pay above MSRP nowadays?
Also, the fact that the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, quite antiquated, is selling at or above MSRP?? Not anywhere near me...they are one of the most discounted vehicles available...

I bought my '26 Lobo High below MSRP, at Invoice actually. No other associated costs
with the purchase. I refused to pay Dealer Handling which is a joke...just added profit,
and the crap they add as an addendum to make even more profits. I said I will not pay for
them, take them off. I was dealing with the GSM the #2 person that runs the dealership.
Sat in his office and hashed out the deal. Didn't take long either. He was great. Got
accessories at cost, and he swapped out the black wheels....I don't put or have black wheels
on any of my vehicles. Yes, I did mention in another thread.....I swapped for the Lariat wheels
that have the brushed front areas. Blasphemy.....I know, but, it's my truck and I do like what I like,
no different than everyone else here. That's what makes us all unique humans.

I just never trash those who like black wheels. Each to their own. Oh, if some don't know, wheel
size on the '25-'26 Lariat is same as Lobo. I put my own tires on it also. Rides so much better.

I will never pay a premium over MSRP for a car. Over the years there have been a few times where dealers pulled that crap so I just went elsewhere or waited until the market re-gained it's sanity. Any dealer that played that game was dropped from my 'where to buy' list from then on. Short-sighted from them, long memory from me.

Why do news journalists always stare at the Orange Juice container for hours? Because it says concentrate on it.

How do you make a journalist’s eyes twinkle? Shine a flashlight in their ear.

Why don’t journalists like making Kool-Aid? They can’t fit 8 cups of water into that little packet.

Could it be that the "publisher" is increasing their report output by using AI ?
That might explain why they produced the hogwash report.

I suspect that the robot they polled was confused or unaware that there are different trims.
The synopsis sounds like typical multisource gobbledygook that is expelled by a bot.

Yet Consumer Reports names it the best small pickup for 2026 - https://www.consumerreports.org/car...tr_whatsnew&utm_nsltr=whatsnew&utm_segment=da

...I paid sticker for mine, but I wanted Carbonized Gray, 4k Tow, Hybrid, Lariat, and had to take moon roof. Not a lot inbound that matched that (color was a little flexible, but not much). I certainly would never have paid more than sticker.
I got all that plus the black appearance package. I hated the BAP on the blue and red Mavs I saw it , but it totally rocked the carbonized grey and I had to have it.

The human or bot moderators appear to be editing stuff. In my earlier post I'd actually added...

'...and what kind of a strange website is "qz.com". There is an alarming proliferation of websites that simply use AI engines to aggregate and massage web content for unsuspecting readers to consume. It is generally delivered in a massaged/package form that appeals to their preferences (unfortunately today, that is often measured in political partisanship)."

This sums my impression of of the qz.com site. It will be interesting to see if this makes it onto mtc.com....

My 2024 Lariat, I got it for $1,800 below sticker. Mine even had the $700 up charge for the paint color. I will say that burned my biscuits a little
Red Paint is usually more expensive than other colors always has been and probably always will be more expensive than other colors!!

Your comment about the website did indeed post as #26 on the thread.
What may become of it in the future may depend on you funding the robot tip jar.. ;)
BTW - Say hi to Cat Ballou.

When I bought my 2025, I got the "Friends and Family" deal that was going on last April and a decent price on my trade in (that they tried to bump down by $1,000 due to F&F.....nice try, NOT) ....today's shoppers don't want to go in and haggle over pricing (which I love to do) and that is the reason the dealer will "knock it out of the park" so to speak when they can, because they can. If you think you would save $$ buying direct from the manufacturer...guess again...they will do the same thing.

Kids these days I tell ya.....
I got My 2025 last April during the Friends and Family Deal looks like I paid $30,028.00 MSPR was $31,510.00!!
