Keep in mind, that was December. You typically get the best deals at the end of the year as they are trying to clear out older models. January and February usually are the worst time to buy a new vehicle.I don't buy that, having shopped around in December and getting pricing on many Lariats and a couple of XLTs. The worst deal that I got was $250 below sticker, and my purchased Lariat was $3300 below sticker. The 2026's weren't out yet.
That being said, I will say that Mav buyers don't have the leverage of buyers buying a bigger Ford as our trucklers are popular. Time on the lot was usually always less than 60 days.
That hasn't been my experience. It's winter (in places that have it like here in PA) and not good lot weather, and people are being hit with their Christmas bills, dealers are more desperate to get rid of previous year's model, and peeps don't have tax returns yet. That being said, had I waited til January for the Mav (and the semi-unicorn model I got was still available) the Ford "Last Days" 1k discount wouldn't have been available, but I would have been able to beat the dealer down more. At least that's been my experience with my last 3-4 Fords.Keep in mind, that was December. You typically get the best deals at the end of the year as they are trying to clear out older models. Once in a while you find a decent one - but it is rare. That is one of the reasons why I never visit a dealership. I get already goosebumps when I see these sharks lurking at the entrance area and then approach me with the sleezy attitude. Usually request OTD prices from dealers by mail. Or go straight to either of the two trustworthy ones (Granger or McArthur). Well worth the few bucks for a airplane ticket and gas.I bought mine used with 2500 miles on it from another old fart. This after visiting 3 stealers who all wasted my time and tried to screw me. Never again will I buy from a crooked stealer.
My son hired a broker saved a ton and never stepped into pone of those god awful stealers and their con men.Once in a while you find a decent one - but it is rare. 3. Reduced Negotiation StressEspecially valuable in tight markets or for high-demand vehicles
Must be regional. All the incentives from Ford here were in December, they are gone now. That hasn't been my experience. My 2024 Lariat, I got it for $1,800 below sticker. Mine even had the $700 up charge for the paint color.
