I have a 23 mav hybrid, I rotated tires & at 22,000 miles wouldn't get a sticker because tires wouldn't pass. Got an alignment at private business when first noticed wear & drifting was told back passenger wheel was out of alignment .37 no way to align. Put on new tires, went to my local Ford, had alignment & they told me everything is ok. Had another alignment 6 months later because of drifting at the Ford where I bought it new for a total of $380 in alignments & was told rear passenger wheel was out .25 but within spec no way to correct. Had it back to Ford about 5 times. Final decision from Ford bulletin 2 days ago, you must keep hands on steering wheel for at least 45 seconds when drifting starts so sensor can kick in and correct electric steering. This thing will cross 4 lanes on highway at 60 mph in about 7 seconds when you take hands off wheel. Haven't tried the 45 seconds timing out yet. Are my tires going to wear out again? I have 3000 miles left on bumper to bumper & a premium warranty. I own 3 fords but don't know if I will do another. I have attached video.

What are your tire pressures. Even 1psi difference will make it pull.

Looking at the rear axle assembly on a FWD Maverick, I understand the lack of adjustability. But, that doesn't mean that the rear axle can't be replaced to fix the problem, the question becomes who pays for it. If you've documented this problem since new, keep pushing your case. Otherwise, invest in a new axle.

Honestly, a good machinist could make a tapered shim to fit between the hub and the mount, to fix the toe-in.

Could this be related to bad cv/axle issue?

Can you read a alignment report? I don't have a good understanding, only what they tell me.

I assume so, except rear is no adjustable.

CV axle Don't know. They seemed to have checked things out real good. But being a Maverick & hybrid & a new design , & not much experience with repairs on them as of yet. But they steering sensor 45 second hold thing is hard to buy.

Twist beam is simple but effective. That's what gives the FWD hybrid such good payload.

As they told you, the problem child is the right rear. While the toe-in of .55 degrees is just within the spec of .69, the entire range allowed is nearly 4 times that of the adjustable front axle. With no means of adjustment, Ford has blown the spec so far open to make sure rear axles are within spec, tire wear be damned. The "total" toe-in amount (both sides) of .60 is above the spec range (.58), but again, no way to adjust and bring into spec.

Here's the Ford report on wheel pull/drifting. How to evaluate & how to activate. But in my video the drift is extreme with hands off the wheel, you can feel the pull. From what Ford says it takes 45 seconds to activate and assist with wheel pull/drift. I guess you will always feel the drift if you don't drive the same terrain for at least 45 seconds.

Sounds like you are familiar with this. I wonder if this would cause drifting & how much tire wear & which tires or tire according to the printout?
