No more hate for the 2025 facelift's new front end design?

Eh, supplier issues were pretty much sorted out for the 2024 model year and Ford started really pumping out Maverick's without delays for 2024.

The hell they did. I ordered my '24 XLT on Leap Day in 2024. I did not receive it until October 28th--it barely made the cutoff for the model year.

I ordered mine with the hard tri-fold tonneau. I immediately got a message that they had exceeded their quota of those for April production. I thought my truck would be built in May.

When May got here, I checked every week, and found out that they were out of either the standard XLT wheels or tires or both pretty much all summer. For a week or two, they had those, but had no EcoBoost engines. My truck wasn't built until September 26th.

And somehow I got mine just before the stop sale order due to the rearview camera recall with no fix.

You can’t compare model year to annual sales figures. Annual sales figures always include multiple model years in the total.

Some folks waited for the stop sale to end in order to get the redesign. Also, 2025 began with many 2024s still on dealer lots and ended up in the 2025 sales totals.

2024 was a good vintage in my opinion. Final year before a refresh are usually more reliable - especially more reliable than first year refresh models historically.

I took the chance with the 25 when there were 24s at my local dealer in mid Q2 25. So far - so good.

IMHO I still prefer the '24 over the '25 -'26. Someone will take the lead and produce a "face-lift kit " to correct this new look . It is better looking in certain colors -but the "24 looks great in all colors .

I can't stand it, the design looks like it's trying to be an EV to me.

Way I see it,
The 2024 and back front end is classic Ford truck.
The New 2025 front end is a change nothing more.
When a company, any company wants to attract new buyers
they have to update/change the look and features somehow.

I doubt anyone on the design team is over fifty. It shows.
Not bad or good just different.
I remember a few Mustang body styles I did not like.
I loved every Cuda' ever made and did not like a single Dodge pick up truck.
Just sayin.

The design was actually submitted by some third graders from a local school who entered a Ford-sponsored contest, and won.

I think a “face-lift” to upgrade the first gen to the current gen would sell many more kits? Seen a few forum folk asking to update their grilles…

I dare say the Lobo is the best looking truck currently on the market

It grew on me.... and honestly at first I thought it made my MY2024 look someone cartoonish (we'll say fun) where the refresh was a bit more refined (we'll say mature)... but now, I feel like both are equally modern and well executed...

It's the 2028 Gen2 Mavericks that's going to make us all feel like we're driving obsolete Gen1 Originals, Gen1 MidCycle Refresh Mavericks. LOL.

No standard wheels for the most popular model for 3 months is a supplier issue.

The front end was a non-issue because there was no alternative. If you wanted something in the Maverick's class of one vehicle, you could only get it with the new front end.

Before the 2025 models arrived at dealers and people starting buying them, I noticed a LOT of hate for the front end re-design. Myself included. I was not a fan. In fact I was eager to get the previous design since that was the original Maverick that I fell in love with. This new front-end, at least on Ford’s website, looked AWFUL and my heart sunk.

…until I saw it in person. Then my opinion completely changed. I cannot exactly express why it looks so much better in person. But I think it’s partly due to the fact that all the camera angles were taken as if you were looking at it from 2 feet off the ground. The new bottom lip looked huge. And you focused on that more than you did the horn-shape of the lights. But when you see it in person, generally you’re looking at it from a higher vantage point, and you can see the 3D shape of it, rather than just a “slab” that is covering up the old lights.

I’m at the point now where I actually PREFER it over the original design. I love the horn-shaped lights. Anyone feel the same? Have you noticed a decrease in the hate for the front-end?

I wouldn't call it hate but that cheesy plastic flapper thing under the headlights could have been done better. Kinda afterthought looking. Although, it does leave itself open to customizations.
