I loved my Vredstein Wintrac Pro. I ran them on my 2018 Audi S3. LOVED the tread pattern and its ability to dipperse water and ins any deep slush. They were quiet as well and still maintained a sporty feel where the S3 was able to handle ok’ish. Yeah I miss that car. Great choice in tire. If my memory serves me correct I believe Vredstein has made winter tires since the early 60’s so quite a pedigree.
Here’s my S3 sitting on 18” wintrac pro’s.

sorry lol I geek out over stuff like this hope I’m not oversharing. I run winter tires on every car 😅.

Looks awesome! I traded in my GR Corolla for the Maverick. I wasn’t super impressed with the fun to drive factor of that car but I gotta say I do miss it in a big snow covered parking lot! Took the Mav to one recently… understeer city 😞

25 Lariat EB winter package - RTX Premium Steelies. Bridgestone Blizzaks DM-V2, 235/65/17.

This package is extremely good in deep snow, hard packed snow and decent on ice.

Haven’t had a chance to post much so finally getting around to sharing the winter setup I’ve been running since November.

Picked up a set of 17x7.5 RTX Ranch wheels on eBay for winter use. I liked that they looked somewhat ford OEM. And I wanted OEM center bore which had 63.4, didn’t wanna mess an around with hub rings ect. Wrapped them in Toyo Observe G3 Ice OEM sizing. Also the stock black ford center caps fit perfectly. Used ford open end lug nuts and installed some Amazon black lug nut covered to match it all up nicely.

Mini review on winter tires. Are they good for the money yes. I’d probably give them a 3.5 out of 5 stars but being I’ve had much better winter tires these are just ok. Positives are good traction out of the hole and decent braking and they’re actually pretty quiet for a snow tire. The negatives are they’re ultra mushy so at higher highway speed and winds you’re going to feel it. I don’t care for the turn in with the sipes are good in a straight line but when you turn there’s a feeling of unsettledness. Will they break loose, no…but it’s just that like I said I’ve had better winter tires like blizzaks and good years and many more to list, these don’t feel as confident. But in the end they’re great for what they are and you can stud them if you need to.

anyways what’s everyone else running for their winter setup? And how do you like the tires you’re running?

I went with some black 17” rims from Tire rack and some Hancook I pike 225-65-17 tires very happy with how they perform in the snow, we just got 16” over the weekend.

Wisdom on display.
Naw, I do it because I’m too chicken to drive my Maverick in slippery winter conditions.
But thanks for the compliment. I’ll do my best to live up to that.

Stock factory continentals with almost 40,000 miles on. No problems in northern michigan winters.

Roads usually don't stay bad all that long in central Illinois and I've been happy with the Bridgestone WeatherPeaks. 3-peak rated all-weather tires, so I leave them on year-round. Unlike the CrossClimate, these are non-directional so I can rotate them side to side

I just rock these year-round. Loved them on my Tacoma, picked them up on my Maverick today. AWD/4x4 vehicles + All-Terrains or All-Seasons have always been my go-to for my vehicles.

Where I live snow tires are mandatory from December 1st to March 15th.

Before parking my Lobo for the winter I installed 17" steel wheels with Continental Vikingcontact 8's.
The truck is ready to go should something happen to my 2013 Focus. I have steel wheels with General Altimax Arctic 12's on the Focus.

I recently installed Pirelli Scorpion WeatherActive All-Season tires, and they have performed well in the snow so far! I did some driving around with Slippery Mode and Traction Control both on, and the truck did a good job of tracking straight, and very little sliding around turns. These tires did a nice job of driving in the direction that I was steering and the back end of my truck didn't swing out at all. We only had about 6 or 8 inches of snow when I was out and about, and I felt comfortable driving slowly on some of the minor roads in my area.

Outside of snow driving, I have really enjoyed the way these tires handle on dry pavement. They are very quick to respond to steering input, and even though the steering feel is lighter with these than with my previous Bridgestone WeatherPeak tires, the Pirellis allow me to feel the road's input better. I am excited to see how they wear as the miles pile on!

I replaced my factory counties with AT tires last summer. They do well in the snow and are much better all around when doing truck things.

The Continental Vikingcontacts would definitely have been my choice if I went the wheel swap route.
