My Dads last car he owned was a 2006 Kia Amanti - the side mirrors were amazing. They would auto-dim at night with rear approaching headlights and when you put the car in reverse, they would rotate down so you could watch the curb when trying to park....I thought that was a pretty cool feature.

My 22 lariat has in tail light assembly.
Tips
  • Confirm Trim: Lariat taillights are different from XL/XLT due to the integrated blind spot sensor.
  • OEM Numbers: Verify the part number (like NZ6Z-13404-C for passenger) to ensure compatibility.
My apologies. Have you ever removed the taillights and verified? When I look up the blind spot sensor for a '22 Lariat, it does not show the sensors within the tail lights.

I don't have this glare problem because I use my side view mirrors for....wait for it....a side view. 99% of other drivers (to whom I don't trust) use them as rear views. So then they have 3 rear view mirrors. Adjust them out so that you can see the blind spot and nothing more. If I want to check the rear view from either side view mirror, I move my head toward the mirror.

I made this change many years ago based on some article or video I saw. I laugh when I see those blind spot detectors.

🤔 I remember a video about proper mirror adjustment. SAE guidelines.
Skip to 1:10 for the meat of the video. I have absolutely no blind spots. I don't have a need to see my door handle, if something is that close it's already too late.

Is the AI-generated slop?
Nope. The Lariat tail lights are different because they have an eyebrow light that is not present on the other models, not because it has a BLIS sensor. The BLIS sensor assembly is in the same place on the Lariat as it is on the other models.

I was aware of the lariat headlight had a eyebrow feature,

but I didn't realize the Rear OEM Tail light did too. I haven't been able to come up with a picture of the rear brake lights with a led eyebrow.

The lariat brake lights are led?
For 22 to 24 models the eyebrows are LED, while the brake an turn taillights are incandescent. For 25 and 26 I think they made them all LED, but I'm not sure.

I haven't looked. The tail light is different in the 22 lariat. And was told replacing tail light would require recalibration. Maybe sensor itself is not in tail light?
