Good tip. I checked and it is still there and I checked it for blown fuse but it was OK. The thing I don't understand is right after a full reset I can see all Wifi's around me and connect to mine for a brief time but then I see nothing again.
Do you have Android auto or Apple Carplay active? If yes, put the phone in Airplane mode and see what happens.

I did as you suggested and I can now connect to my Wifi but what is the cure? I don't want to keep my phone in Airplane mode and I'd like to use my CarPlay.

I don’t really have an answer to that except to ask just how often do you actually use your Wi-Fi connecting to your house? I only do it every few months. That doesn’t seem to be too much of a burden.

I just thought it would be nice to have it connected anytime I was in range of my home Wifi for automatic updates. I still can't get my Fordpass connected, that may be a separate issue. And
then there is the issue with no GPS for maps although I like using WAZE for maps and directions. I guess it's just that I would like them all to work. I do appreciate your help and suggestion. It will give me more information to relay to the dealer when I take it in for repairs. I was hoping to find a cure to avoid the Service shop visit. I like automatic updates and the Foredpass app. Thanks again for your help.

Did you or the previous owner do a reset of the unit?

I have an appointment in a week to have my problem looked at. I have a 2025 Tremor. When trying to connect to Wifi no networks are seen. I also can't get Fordpass to connect either. Carplay will work with no problems. I've done a factory reset and right afterwards I can see all available networks and connect to my home network, but only briefly. I check a minute or two later and no networks show again. I also get a no GPS symbol too when maps try to display. There is also no Onboard Modem serial number displayed. I bought the Tremor used so I don't know if it ever worked. It's a Tremor and window sticker shows I should have all the equipment for it to work. I'm showing the latest version of SYNC 4 Software. Just looking for any input of things to try before I take it in for my upcoming appointment.
I have the exact issues as you have experienced on my 25 Lariat AWD Hybrid. Sync 4 rev: 1591 and auto-updates have been on since dealer sold it to me.

Only difference is that I must turn off my phone to disable Carplay connecting before I can see the wifi SSID's in the neighborhood, including mine. If Carplay is connected, I cannot see any SSID's.

I can see my modem ID, in fact, the About Sync page shows everything normally. But I don't know how to determine if the cellular modem is conected. On the Home screen my WiFi and cellular Icons are dim. I have 4 bars of coverage on my phone on ATT and Verizon.

I noticed about 3 days ago that I could not lock/unlock via the Ford App. I haven't driven since then. I've only had it for about 2 weeks and 121 miles.

I did the infotainment reset (Power + right Scan) but seems not to affect connectivity. I hesitate to do the master reset and then loose I don't know what but 10 days for Ford to reauthenticate the vehicle.

My dealer is 85 miles distant and really don't want to go in for service if it can be solved in a more efficient fashion. I'd certainly like to understand the problem and the fix too.

I'm stumped and a bit irritated. I will go out for a cruise just to see if that fixes things up.

Mine is like yours, I can connect to Wifi if I put my phone in Airplane mode or turn it off but I still won't get any GPS. The dealer has had mine for the last few days and have given me a rental car while they work on it. They have ordered a TCU module which is supposed to be delivered early this week. I'm not happy leaving my truck with them that long, but at least they volunteered for the rental with out me asking for one. They admit it is a warranty issue.

While adding a dash cam, I discovered that you can just turn off carplay for that vehicle so you can still have the rest of the phone operational.
This wireless Carplay isn't nearly the awesome feature I thought it would be.

I did a factory reset.
So I have read that ford may take up to 10 days to get you back onboard with all features re-engaged. I've owned this truck just slightly longer than that!

So what has that been your experience with the Factory Reset timeline?

I'm a bit hesitant to the factory reset as I've barely had mine Mav that long. I plan to call the Ford help line Monday and see what they say. I will drive it today to add some miles to see if the current reported mileage increases from 121. Then at least I know the car communicates to Ford, if not my Ford App.

It's 85 miles to my dealer, so hopefully, the Sky Daddy will reach out to me with some hand-holding. :)

Well, after calling the "MyFord App Center" (800-883-2966 direct line), about 45 minutes as she had me do the Infotainment reset with the door open/lock doors, no help there and additional things to try while she jiggled wires on the back-end.

She was able to see my Ford Pass iOS app sending commands (Lock and Remote start), but could not see any cellular modem activity since 12-29-25. I bought it on the 23rd, so it worked the first week of ownership.

She confirmed that it had not received any updates in the past 90 days. But she said there were no updates. She also said WiFi is not used for updates except software. Hardware update (I suppose that means firmware) is only done over cellular.

Her diagnosis (also with her supervisor approving she said) is dealer service trip to do a hard reset on the cellular modem first. That requires removing it first. Then if not successful, replace the modem.

So scheduled service with local dealer, earliest appt is 2 weeks out. I mentioned that it's been dead since the 29th, only worked 6 days and I had only about 25 miles on it since driving it home. No matter that's all we have available.

So far, I'm not pleased. I'll count this is my first stop on the way to the lemon orchard. Yeah, I know, I'm one of 65,000 Maverick sales, I suppose I should be happy. So tuning up my Garmin for a couple hundred mile trip this week, as the GPS doesn't work does not work. Just lovely.

A personal aside on the hand-holding after sale:

The CSR was very helpful, nice and just a pleasure to work with, but please do our survey she asked. That is just what the sales guy (but make it 4 stars please) and then the docs guy said mentioned the survey too. So I did do the Ford survey about a week later, then the Google review and then wrote to the salesman and the docs dude a personal letter of thanks. Never heard a word from either of them since.

For comparison, the sales guy and I had over 20 texts or phones calls over 2 days when pre-sale. I did get an Email from the dealer's customer care rep, thanking me...it read odd...so ran it through an AI checker...and it was 100% AI written. Feels very much to me to be hallow, phony, plastic to make a sale to keep corporate pleased moving product and everyone getting the maximum incentives tacked on at end of month/year.

All in all, so far, this has not been a pleasant beginning start, no warm and fuzzies yet. But lots of time to build from this point.

Got my 2025 Tremor back from the dealer yesterday. All is working now. They changed the TCU module. No charge, all under warranty. I'm a happy camper again.

Good to hear it's fixed.

My truck goes in on Monday to the dealer just a mile from home. They, found an earlier opening after a cancellation.

I did check fuse 11-12 and both sides were good...I think I'll get back under there and check all of them just to be sure, then under hood. Though I don't have any of those micro 2/3's fuses (on order).

For now, my old Garmin 65 is in the truck...I have a 200 mile trip this weekend, still only 125 miles and most of that is just driving home from my distant purchasing dealership.

I was using WAZE with my Carplay. There are some good GPS Apps out there WAZE just being one of them. I hear Google Maps is good also. May phone and Carplay worked just fine before the TCU module fix.
