5,000 miles came fairly quickly for "Fred" (as my 10-year-old daughter calls my 2025 XL EcoBoost). Spent some time this past Friday knocking out the first oil change on the Maverick. I've owned plenty of vehicles over my nearly 30 years of driving, and have always tried to be a DIY'er when it comes to standard lube and filter swap. The Maverick definitely falls onto the "easier" spectrum of DIY oil changes, thankfully.
My only gripe was the crazy amount of screws Ford specs to secure that front belly pan to the bottom of the vehicle (FIFTEEN, Ford, really?).
Other than that, no issues. Dumped 0.1 of the required 6.1 quarts directly into the new filter prior to installation, and then dumped the remaining 6.0 quarts topside (Amsoil Signature Series, per my usual fleet maintenance on my other vehicles). Took the opportunity to install a Gold Plug magnetic drain plug (Part # AP04, M12x1.75), as well.
It's been stated several places on MTC before, but friendly reminder that if you are using the Motorcraft oil filter, Part # for the 2025+ EcoBoost is FL-2127 and not the previously spec'd FL-910S.
