Menu projects oil change at 4,000 miles. Driven 2,010 mi. Why not 5,000 mi.

If you are speaking to me "scotty" i have 2010 miles. the estimate based on current miles, I will be at 4000 miles
I picked up my Maverick Hybrid on November 1, 2023; I currently have 3443. Ford Pass indicates I have 53% oil life remaining with an estimated service date of November 2024 with an estimated distance of 3900. That would calculate to 7343 miles for an oil change. I plan on getting the oil changed at about 5000 miles. I would have done it sooner, however the service advisor at Ford stated I was having it changed much too early when I attempted to have it changed at 2500.

Wow, honest dealer or were they trying to avoid a free oil change you had coming. I always change myself, nobody trys to upsell me, I can pick the interval which is usually 40-50%, but truth be told I like to change all my vehicles Memorial weekend and Thanksgiving weekend as 6 months apart and weather is okay,
23 maverick hybrid. 106.45 mins, on engine.
2010 mi, 47.3 mpg.
oil life remaining 57%
I drive on expressway about 35 miles weekly. The remaining miles in city, using battery about 40% useage.

At 57% remaining oil life, it appears to project I will do my oil change with at about 4,000 miles.

I see many on the forum doing their oil changes at 5,000, 7,500 miles with at about 20% oil life still left. I see other of course do earlier changes for the initial break in for engine.

why do you think I will need to change at 4,000 miles? Is it because I ran a lot of hours on the engine compared to miles performed?
Any advice? thank you for information and direction. I would like to change synthetic oil at least 5,000 miles.
Mine said 10% at around 4500, also was 11 months old. After I changed it Ford Pass app says next estimated change at 4500 miles and 12 months. I agree with those that say it's keeping track of the calendar. I changed it at 1200 miles too but didn't reset the oil life monitor, just always have done first change around 1000 and switch to Mobil1. Have had good results with high mileage and no oil consumption issues with any car I did this with so I stick with what works for me.

I'm a gentle driver.

I'm at 9174 miles since last oil change.

Oil Life 30% remaining.

Of the 9174 right around 5000 were highway miles. But, I did 4400 highway miles in 1 week.

The rest were city miles spread over 7 months.

I will wait to 10,000 miles, then send a sample to Blackstone labs.

Motorcraft: dealer added oil & filter change.
