At 35k original miles with probably a few miles more but it’s time for tires upgrade. Out with the old and in with the new. BF Goodrich Advantage

Our 23 has similar miles, at a recent oil change the dealer told us we need new tires bad. I thought the factory continentals were rated for 50k?

Like posted fuel economy figures.
Tire mileage is Comparative, not absolute:
A tire's mileage rating is a relative comparison of its tread life, part of the Uniform Tire Quality Grading (UTQG) system, found on the tire's sidewall.
A higher treadwear number indicates a longer expected lifespan, but it's not a guarantee of specific mileage because the actual life of a tire depends on factors like driving habits, road conditions, and tire maintenance.
A tire with a rating of 400 is expected to last twice as long as a tire with a 200 rating under the same conditions, but the number doesn't represent a precise mileage figure.

The factory tires don't have as much tread as ones bought from a tire dealer. Ford contracts out certain manufacturer brand tires. I replaced my Continentials the day after I picked up my vehicle. I could'nt belive how light and flexible the sidewalls were. Put Firestone Destination ones for my winter ones.

Gotcha, we are happy with the continentals here in northern michigan. Will probably replace in a year or so when closer to 50k.

Continentals from factory are a decent tire...with that said, the BFG's are a good, solid choice for daily use.

Just swapped my 225/55/19 Goodyear Territory HT for 235/55/19 Falken Wildpeak AT Trail. While efficiency is going to take a big hit they have made the truck feel much more planted and improved the ride quality significantly.

Every time I switched from all season to all terrain I lost 1 to 2 mpg at most. But I gained bucket loads of traction and control in the rain and snow.
On my roads a mid life Michelin all season with 6-7 32’nds tread depth left hydroplanes at an annoying level when I hit water.
All my All Terrains
Yoko Geolandars and Faulkin Rubitreks with as little as 5-6 32’nds of tread do not hydroplane one bit under the same conditions.

Plus the AT’s start out at 12-13 32’nds not
10 32’nds.
My stock Michelins look like they belong on an economy car not a truck.
The look of AT’s add a good dose of Badassery to any pickup truck.

And since I can be a bit of a haul asser/lead foot I can ease up on my throttle a bit and easily compensate making that 1-2 mpg loss with the AT’s pretty much stay under 1 mpg making that a non issue.

Oh and 710-oil dude, I had to drop one psi when I went from 225 to 235 to maintain even tread wear per my tire depth gage.
Just sayin’

I always run a few psi low. I expected the MPG hit but they make such a massive difference.

@710-oil-614 Did you stay with an Extra Load tire? Curious if you did....

Good question.

So the 235/55/19 in the Wildpeak Trails only comes in a XL load.

The 225/55/19 only come in the SL load.

The 235s were only 1.5 lbs heavier which pushed me to the 235s and XL load rating.

While I will rue the loss of efficiency it's something I knew was going to occur and I was ready for my Mav to be a little more truckish. I can't replace the AWD with the Advanced AWD system from the Tremor but I can improve the Hybrid AWD to at least be a F(au)X4
