Their CEO said it would be a new silhouette. So something with a truck bed, that doesn't look like a conventional truck. It will also be RWD, with super advanced areo design done by redbull F1 employees, and a 0-60 at least as fast as a Ecoboost mustang, so 5 seconds or less.

Ford filed a trademark for the ranchero name a few months ago, and what their CEO is describing sounds like the perfect kind of vehicle to bring the ranchero name back. A proper sports ute that hopefully takes styling inspiration from sports and muscle cars, and is as fast and fun to drive as they are, but has the practicality of a truck bed, that's a super appealing concept imo.

This AI rendering is a 2 door, we know this truck will be a 4 door, but I'd be thrilled if it looked anything like this.

I don't think Ford wants to produce a 2 passanger vehicle, but a 4 door version wouldn't have the look of this mustang offspring. I like it, but would not buy one.

I don't see why it couldn't, just extend the cab to provide the extra doors, and keep the rest of the design basically the same.

I'm done getting in and out of low profile automobiles. It's one of the reasons I ended up selling my Chevy Volts.
Might as well name it "El Ranchero"😅
Fair points, but I'd argue a couple of things. Having a lower ride height does offer a number of advantages, better handling and performance, better aero and efficiency, and generally better looks.

While lower vehicles are often harder for individuals of a more mature age to get into, considering these are EVs targeting a 25-30 grand starting price, I believe the primary demographic Ford is targeting us younger buyers in their late 20s to 30s.

I personally wouldn't mind seeing more vehicles with adjustable suspension, something that raised itself as you were getting in and out, or going off-road, and then lowered itself when you wanted it to. We're probably years away from being able to apply that kind of technology to an affordable vehicle reliably, but once we can, you'd get the best of both worlds.

As far as looks go, this is all we have of people actually seeing the truck. You can't see much because it's such a close up view of it, but the people seeing it seem to really like how it looks.

When I was younger, I never thought any 4 door car was cool. I still feel that way, although, there are some great 4 door cars produced in the last 10 years that changed my thinking. Still, 4 door Corvette? Miata? Nissen Z? not in my book.

I'm saying that if you take the "truckest" styled minivan, like a late refresh Pontiac Montana, and saw it off at the C pillar and add a Ridgeline bed... it's gonna look like that... or pugnosed ridgeline, whichever way round you wanna put it. Anyhoo, expecting it to be more cab forward, maybe they can massage a trucky look out of it in the sheetmetal.

Well, they're not gonna release a picture where the people are grimacing. They actually look like they're reacting to something someone said, not what they're seeing.

Mustang,
There can be only one !

FORD, stop letting the younguns put the proud Mustang name on everything. Make them come up with something new.
Or use ‘Pinto’
:’P

The Mustang broke the seven minute lap time at the Nürburgring.
That name still means something to us old timers.
Do Not Dishonor it !
Take it off that EV car, PLEASE !

He did. I believe that's slang for utility vehicle in Australia and New Zealand area. It's a sedan/truck type vehicle. I remember reading that just a few weeks ago. But i could be thinking of something else.
