Hi guys just wanted to share an interesting and unusual issue that just popped up recently.
Finally got tires installed on the factory steelies (had swapped the stock tires and sensors on aftermarket wheels right after buying the truck).
After tires, got an alignment, and on the drive home, noticed a clicking sound when releasing the brakes - video attached

Seems like it's happened to others before around the same mileage as me, but wanted to put this out there as a data point I guess. Video is before a drive to work, key not in the ignition (confirmed the noise is not the shift interlock)

Mine is doing the same. If you put in in park does the clicking sound also come from the shifter knob area?

That's the normal brake-shift interlock, sounds like coming from inside the plastic surround?
Like a light press on brake - click, let go - click?
Out of Park doesn't do it?

For OP, since we can hear the pushing of the brake pedal so well, I'm guessing phone being held closer to that area. And he confirmed NOT the interlock.

Neither of my 2 local dealers had loaners available so I couldn't drop it off today
The one I went to in person called their foreman in and he said "I think that's normal for hybrids"
Then the service advisor tried to explain how regen braking works.
Gonna drop it off next week, hopefully we get somewhere with an actual diag -- fully expecting the brake booster to be replaced

So truck is sitting there - no movement, and thinks a sound is involved with regen braking?

That's scary - I'd rather hear hmmm - meaning I don't know and not going to say just anything lest I appear an idiot.

Update
They checked it out, said there were no faults and nothing mechanically obvious wrong to warranty so they aren't doing anything at this time

They did try to tell me part of it is the shift interlock lol
And they could not replicate the sound on a new Ecoboost Maverick on their lot

If they could not duplicate - then it's time for further discussion higher up.
Remind them this is the brake system.

And if you have the paperwork that says they tested against other truck with no sound, but could hear yours - that'll be worth emailing to corporate once they ask for the details - though they'll have them then.

I'll definitely be looking at the work order closely, I even told them directly I was concerned it was the booster, mentioning the F150 recall for it recently and some others on here having the same issue.

They also told me on the phone if I get a warning light to bring it back immediately lol

Just got the Maverick back today from the dealer. They replaced the brake booster and so far so good, no clicking noise. Reading the service notes it looks like they even took a stethoscope to check and see where the clicking was coming from. The service advisor said to me I wonder how many more of these we will see mine being the first.

Couldn't find prior post - was yours the sound just by the firewall and brake pedal?
Or included the center console area like the brake interlock?

My 2025 eco boost also began making this same noise. I received the same story from the dealer service dept. that the sound is normal and they reproduced it on another 2025 from the lot. Funny, cause it didn't begin doing this until very recently at about 2000 miles. I'll have to keep up on these posts to see if anyone has a resolution or maybe try a different dealer. I do have to take it back in for some behind the dash rattle noises that they ordered parts for at some point soon. I might ask them to again check this but I'm sure I'll get the same answer.
