I also have a ram to tow our camper, we use the maverick to also tow the boat along when we camp. I also have a minivan so my stepdaughters dog doesn't trash the ram or maverick. Our 3 year old ecoboost has been trouble free at 32,000 miles. I do wish the center armrest stuck out a bit farther, and the box was about an inch or two deeper.
I put a cap on my mav along with a rubber mat. I have 2 9 year old labs so I got a ramp. Bingo instant dog hauler.
I did try the Mabett dog seat covers: It worked well, but the back is much better.

Maybe I can offer a little help. I had a 23' Hybrid, XLT. I wanted the Hybrid AWD, so I ordered one when they opened the order banks. My son had a 22' EB AWD, and wanted the MPG of the hybrid, so he sold his EB, and bought my 23' Hybrid. He has a company van for work, so his MAverick doesn't get driven much. We bought a NOCO Genius2D battery tender from Amazon. It mounts right in the engine bay, we connected it to the Jump-start post, and a ground lug. He just plugs it in to keep his battery up. Yeah it's an extra step when you go to leave, or park, but it's a fairly simple solution and only cost about $40. We tuck the cord under the hood by the wiper on the driver's side, so access is easy.

I also have one of these in each my Silverado, (now it only gets used to tow our Camper for the most part), and my wife's 01' Miata, (Nice weather only car, she has a 23' Rav4 Hybrid for everyday). They work great!

I do wish my 25' had the actual buttons for the HVAC for sure!!!

Thanks I keep the Mav in the garage, so this would be an easy solution. Much cheaper than a battery jump starter for sure.

I wish I had known about the crud collecting cavities that need covered. I thought the posts I had read was just guys modifying but they do collect gunk. And I wish I had known that the bed at the rear window and bed rail trim were funnels for rain water.
The guy installing my cap said the same thing. He used strip caulk to divert the water to the outside instead of into the bed. Really paid to have the topper dealer know about mavericks.

I wish I knew the cruise control was not adaptive. Whoever heard of it NOT being adaptive!?
Wish I had known not to leave FOB inside hybrid vehicle. My Prius 12V drained and I just found out why!
Wish I knew I had to pay $57 for an owners manual in print.
I knew that to get ACC and top down backup camera view I would have to spring for a Lariat. I just could not afford it, at least the ones here on the dealers lots. I also did not want a sunroof. Almost all lariats had sunroofs. So the XLT was a compromise. I loved the price of the XL. But wanted heated seats and the rear console for my grandkids. The XLT fit the bill, but I had to forgo a few things.

I really dont miss ACC. My wife's 25 Honda CR-V hybrid has it and I find it a bit distracting. I guess I am just old school. Ok make it just old :)

Debby…I could be wrong but I believe Adaptive Cruise is an “option” on more cars than it is standard. Even on most Benzes and Porsches I believe you have to “pick it.” Also…you’ll find that some people …older drives and very young drivers….don’t even know what it is. 🙂

Which brings me to my third wish: Knowing that the 2025s may have AGM batteries and updated CV axels so those problems could be avoided.
Well good news! You didn't miss out on the deep sleep problem with the 25. I have a 25 and still get it.

Bummer. Deep Sleep in and of itself is not a problem. It's the battery drain that happens even after deep sleep mode. The drain continues until the battery is too flat to crank the truck. Eventually the deep cycling kills the 12v battery. That is why putting in a deep cycle AGM battery helps. So as long as your truck starts from deep sleep, you are good. The problem is you have no way to know when it won't start.

What is the deep sleep problem?
As I stated in a reply before I read your post :)

Deep Sleep is not the issue. On some trucks there is a parasitic drain on the 12v system. A parasitic drain is something that is taking power from the battery even when the truck is turned off. This drain is not supposed to happen. There are systems that take power when the truck is turned off, of course, but the parasitic drain is one that should not be there. Deep Sleep turns off the modem and probably a few other sources of power draw, such as dome lites etc. The modem sucks the most juice when checking for updates and updating ford, etc. So turning off this system makes sense.

The bad drain causes the 12v battery to go flat and not be able to start the truck. If this happens often enough (sorry dont know what that is) It will kill the 12v battery and you are stuck. Replacing the standard battery with a deep cycle AGM battery helps solve the issue.

This is an issue for trucks that are not driven much or there is a long time interval between trips. Driving the truck daily keeps the battery charged and fresh. I just dont drive that much.

Hope this helps.

Back in April we bought a 2024 XLT hybrid. We love it. 45 plus MPG, under 30K, what's not to love. I was looking for something to make quick trips to the hardware store, run for gardening supplies and haul my 2 labs. You know all the stuff where my full sized Ram was too much and my wife minivan would get trashed. I also needed space for the grandkids while doing all that. It was between the Subaru Forester hybrid and the Maverick. Came down to wanting a little truck over an SUV.

I knew about the recalls and was careful in making sure that all recalls were done on the truck we bought. However there are a few things I did not know and wish I had before pulling the trigger.

First I am retired and only drive around 5K to 6K miles a year. Which brings up my first wish:

Parasitic drain and the killing of the 12v battery especially if you don't drive it often. Since I do not drive much, this could be a big problem. It can be a real hassle to get it fixed.

Next wish was knowing that the CV joints could go out at 30K miles. Now this is pretty troubling. As little as I drive, my truck will be well out of warranty by the time I hit 30K. So I hope there is a recall on this.

I Chose the 2024 XLT since I did not like the 2025 grill and want/need real buttons for the radio and climate control. I liked the features of the lariat, but could not afford the price, so the XLT was it.

Which brings me to my third wish: Knowing that the 2025s may have AGM batteries and updated CV axels so those problems could be avoided.

Now would I have done anything different? Probably not. For me I really hate have all the controls on the touch screen so the 24 was the way to go.

Don't get me wrong. I have zero regrets and love the truck more every day. I do find excuses to drive it so I may exceed my milage estimate.

What things, if any, do you wish you knew about the maverick before purchase?
take a look at your battery. I have a 24 Lariat (non-hybrid) that I picked up a year ago, the end of this month. My battery is an AMG.... Checked it out yesterday while adding windshield washer fluid.

Nothing. I spent way too much time on here while waiting for my truck. Everything was already known. My girlfriend at the time hated it with a passion. 😂
So you still have the truck but don't have the girlfriend anymore! Truck Wins.

You don’t need buttons. All you need to do in the ‘25 is talk to the truck and it will set the temperature, turn on/off, the AC, etc.

Ya I guess, but I am old school. Usually when I am talking to cars, it is yelling at other idiot drivers :)

Good to know. I have a slightly more annoying problem in that it shouldn't be in deep sleep in general given my driving habits so I'm likely just a lemon. Frustrating.

I also have a '24 XLT hybrid with no regrets. The deep sleep notifications became daily, at which point I'd go to the dealer. Reset system, subsequently replace FLA battery. 6 Months later, rinse & repeat dealer processes. Finally got the AGM on warranty. Only 2 months in, but so far so good.
As for axels, nothing to note yet. If they do fail off warranty, a CV axel swap can be done at home if you're mechanically inclined.
Lifetime avg 6L/100km in the great white north, 35000km. SUPERB economy, enjoyment, & backseat room compared to the previous gen Ranger.
