Don't pay for all the add ons! It does not make sense to pay $3000 for protective coating and then spend hours of your life trying to get them to honor the warranty which they probably won't. Just pay for the vehicle, minus any discount plus sales tax and license fee. Pay no junk fees.

It may even pay for you to try an HONEST dealer like Long McArthur in KS and make an adventure out of it going from LA to KS. Or Granger Ford in IA.

To learn about Mavs, search youtube and watch Maverick Monday videos that Tim and Sarah at Long McArthur have been doing since Mavs first debuted.
When I go in I say, My wife will let me buy the truck, but only the truck, so dont even try to sell me anything else or I gotta go. Works every time.

Good Day!

Since they launched - I have been pining after a Maverick of my own. I am still in my very first vehicle, a 2021 HR-V which was more of a purchase of necessity than a strong want. Over the years I've followed the Maverick production issues and pre-order cycles, biding my time until I was in a position where I could purchase one.

I have been looking at Carvana mostly, seeing several XLs and XLTs becoming available with decent mileage and manageable price point ($26-$28k). The years range from 2022-2024, with 2025s being out of my desired range. I have also considered purchasing with a buddy of mine who is going to buy himself a new F-150 in the next month or so - he exclusively shops online across a multi-state range to find the best deal, he seems to think we could get a deal on a 2025 at the same time.

Does anyone have any advice? As it pertains to the following:
  • Have you purchased from Carvana?
  • Is a used Maverick worth buying if the price point is within $5k of a new one? I will be financing.
  • What year is the best Maverick if not a 2025 (I found a nice 2022 Lariat but it has several recalls on it.)
  • What should I know about my first Maverick?
Thank you all, first post here so if I violated any forum rules my apologies!
Well, bang for the buck it's hard to go wrong with a Maverick. After a year and a half I'm very happy with my loaded XLT Hybrid. I use it like a truck and a commuter and it's happy to serve me.
Any advice would depend on what you need it for.
Good choice. Just be aware that Mavericks may have a very annoying dash rattle. I bought a new Jan 24 built Lariat Hybrid FWD. It was perfect for my old timer needs. Perfect size, very flexible vehicle. Then it developed a very loud and annoying rattle both in the dash somewhere and above the headliner. I fixed a buzz by a ring if fabric tape around the sun visor clips. Dash & overhead still rattled. Traded it even for a super nice low mileage 2019 F150. Week after I traded TSB for FWDs came out.
Really missed the Maverick. F150 was just too big for me now. Got another 24 Maverick. June 24 built, XLT FX4, LUX,4K TOW. It rode / drove better to me than the Lariat & $1K rebate helped. Thought I got a ā€œgoodā€ one. Then one nite temps in North FL dropped into upper 60s. LOUD dash rattle returned. When it warmed up, rattle was gone. Only happened when temps below 70 or so. That was it For me. Maverick’s concept is great. It’s the execution and quality of material that lacking in my opinion. Assembly was good, paint was good. Let that one go too.
Good luck, search this forum for dash rattles & you will see what Iā€˜m discussing.
Good luck. I hope you get a ā€œgoodā€ one. If you do, I’m sure you will enjoy it.
I'm on my third Mav. No dash rattle or electrical issues. No issues at all. My biggest gripe was the time it took to build/deliver. BTW, I'm up north where we get below zero (F) temps too.

One of the worst features of the Maverick is lack of weatherproofing, etc underneath the wheel wells. My next Maverick will go into a local shop with a lift to spray some type of weather/water/dust proofing of that area.

Very Nice and Congrats! Hope you love it as much as we do! What are your final specs, if you don't mind me asking.

Ours keeps impressing us everyday! Now my eldest kid is thinking of an XLT Hybrid to use as a commuter car!

thank you!

It’s a 2025 XL Hybrid FWD. I’m so excited, it’s got everything I need - lacks some of the amenities of my HR-V but I’m totally fine with that considering the quality of the infotainment system, the mpg and how freaking quiet it is! I’m impressed.

i picked it up 200 miles from my house and it carried me home so confidently.

Awesome! Good looking truck (of course!). I didn't see the 'hybrid' badge on the tailgate

200 miles, you pretty much did your first road trip! As I said before, we are consistently amazed at our hybrid. 45 MPG for around 30K! And it hauls to boot. Have fun! and congrats again.

And love your color! We were really limited on choice on that.

No CarMax is pretty good (at least in my experience) at honoring the quote they give you as long as the vehicle checks out.

It’s absolutely not necessary but I always give the vehicle a nice wash and the interior a clean out and wipe down so they believe the car has been well maintained (mine always are) whether that is true or not
Everything in life depends on first impressions. When you meet someone, look at a house or car, or even an article that you read on line, your first impression is when you decide whether it's what your interested in or not.
