Anybody downloaded IO 26 yet for CarPlay

I notice little difference other than the aesthetics. Using a 13 Pro Max until Friday when its replacement arrives.

15 ProMax here. Updated last night and the visuals in Carplay are pretty solid upgrade. With the 12" OEMPlus screen upgrade, I now get Googlemaps in 3/4 of the screen and then to the right, a window with my media in play and above it options to start searching for directions.
All the edges are rounded and it's just more pleasing to the eye.

Looks better. Waze takes up the entire screen now with the Apple CarPlay control being an overlay rather than a separate frame. I'll put it through its paces on my way to the capital today.

Upgraded yesterday, Pro Max 15, 2024 Lariat. CarPlay navigation would bring up the routs and alternates, but pressing START did nothing. Was on a trip 200 miles from home. Had to use Ford navigation which I do not like.

Just tried this morning and now seems to work fine. My son’s job is Apple support line. He did not know of a reported problem.

about the only meaningful difference with ios 26 is the addition of widgets to carplay. this allows you to (on the 2025-sized screen) show up to three widgets on a separate page with glanceable information.

unfortunately at the moment not very many apps make use of this functionality, and even the ones that do are just not that useful in my opinion.

in my particular setup, the following apps have widgets available for use: batteries, books, calendars, clock, fordpass, home, music, news, notes, photos, podcasts, radioapp, reminders, weather, youtube, whatsapp

fyi, at the moment the fordpass app only shows you use vehicle range, which is redundant because this information is already available near your speedometer.

I’ll wait a month or so. I’m leary of being at the head of the pack on major iOS updates.

My settings for CarPlay/Widgets says a stack of 5 is available.

iPhone 16. iOS 26 works great with Carplay. I saw yesterday there was an option, when using Google maps, to start the trip in Carplay. Maybe maybe the option was there before but I never noticed it.

I upgraded to iOS 26 last night. The widgets in CarPlay are pretty nice with the ability to add several widgets in 3 “stacks” - samples in the pic. Looks great on the big screen in my 25 Lariat.
