U-haul 6x12 trailer, what ball hitch and drop do I need?

If I need to hitch a u-haul trailer, what ball hitch size do I need and what drop?

2 inch ball? and 2inch drop? or no drop because mavericks are lower to ground

Should be a 2" ball, no drop or slight rise should be fine.

No drop. I bought a small camper and needed a rise. It was fairly low. I dropped the trailer 6", then I needed a slight drop hitch.

Pretty sure it would be no drop for the u haul, but a 2" drop may work. 2" rise should be closer. My little square drop camper required a 16"-17" ball height.

I rent the 6x12 a few times a year. 2" ball, 2" rise makes it about perfect.

oh interesting, so its a rise not a drop. can you link the one you have?

It was just the two inch drop that I bought at a local hardware store, and I put it on ‘upside down’. I don’t remember the brand, maybe a Curt?

You would only need a drop on a Ranger or bigger. Maverick hitch is low. Watch your gate if you open it with any trailer.

Let us know when you actually get the trailer in case someone else decides to rent one. Looks like no one here really knows. I have several hitches with different drops and a 1 and 1/2 inch wrench if I need to swap the balls.

be careful with your towing weight. Uhaul shows their 6x12 trailer itself weight 1,730 lbs. empty.
Ford list the maverick's towing capacity at 2,000 lbs with the standard configuration or up to 4,000 lbs with the optional 4k towing package configuration. Careful with the speed and additional stopping distance.

yeah im getting all types of responses. ill see what uhaul says too. I am pulling a 6x12 uhaul. ill keep the thread posted
